More Crew to come...
Carnival's cruise ship Triumph docked at St. Thomas.
Ahoy, Freepers! Why not make your next year's vacation a FREEPER CRUISE? Can't think of a better idea!
United we stand for conservative activism AND some good old-fashioned fun, too!
This cruise thread will be running right up until embarkation day. It'll be packed with lots of information.
Post your enthusiastic comments here. Links are provided below for stateroom/fares information, registration form and
the Bahama Mama Q&A thread devoted solely to answers for all your cruise questions and to provide you with smooth sailing.
We strongly urge you to register ASAP. We need a certain number of registrations by a mid-January cutoff date
to ensure our reserved block of cabins with Carnival. From many communications we've received since last year's terrific cruise,
we're certain the interest is out there. We don't want to have to deep-six this event if we don't get enough registrations in a timely manner.
PLEASE NOTE to hold off on making your air tickets reservations until we give you the go-ahead.
We have more than ample lead-time for this cruise and you'll be able to get good air-fare bargains in plenty of time!
Since some air-transportation tickets are non-refundable, we don't want anyone to be left holding the ditty-bag.
As an incentive for early registration, the first 20 Freepers to get their reservations into the travel agency
will win their choice of five (5) sheets of Ocents.com stamp sheets (go to that website for Seeking the Truth's array of terrific stamps!)
They will also receive a usflagballoon.com pin courtesy of Abner (check out Abner's usflagballoon website
to view the colorful pin and some excellent pictures of the US Flag Balloon!) Registrations will be dated and time-stamped by the agency.
Winners will be notified and they'll receive their gift stamps and pins via mail.
We've got a great contest planned for later. A lucky winner will receive a FREE cabin for two!
Last year, the contest was won by our Freeper pal, Taxman. This time it may be you!
Bookmark this thread. We'll keep you posted as plans evolve. Register now for this fun-filled getaway in the sun!
Informal FRN meetings will be held on board which will be full of information and idea-sharing for effective conservative activism.
Rock the boat with your fellow Freepers! Climb aboard today!
This page is for about the cruise.
If you have questions, do not post them here.
Use the Bahama Mama link and ask them there.
Thank you!

It should bump up our visibility pretty well.

Anyone who has the time should not pass up this event.
Folks, you can always link directly to this cruise thread by clicking the little colored ship banner on the FR home page. We apologize for any difficulties tuning in to the Freeps Ahoy thread this past week, but it's been beyond our control, probably due to the recent slowdown problems on FR.
We're here, we're having fun, and we're urging you to register ASAP while our low rates and cabin availibility still apply. Time is running short. Thanks,
Leni

An important notice will be posted on the next reply. Please read.

We're notified that all registrants who have already paid their deposits are requested to send in the balance of their fare by March 14.
March 21 is the "drop date" which means that after that date, the cruise line is removing the "hold" from all cabins in our reserved group block that are not paid for. This is standard policy for all cruise lines.
It takes a week for the cruise line to authenticate and process personal checks and credit card payments.
Therefore, if you're sending a balance payment check by US post office, MAIL IT NOW so it is received by March 14.
Or, if you are paying the balance by credit card, phone Wanda ON OR BEFORE March 14.
The mailing address (mail NOW) is:
Carefree Vacations
1011 Camino Del Rio South
Suite 100
San Diego, CA 92108
Attn: Wanda
For credit card payments, phone Wanda at toll-free 1-800-890-7583 (ON OR BEFORE MARCH 14).
This is important. We are not the only group or individuals booking on this ship. The cruise line will not hold cabins indefinitely that are not completely paid for by the "drop date". The ship will fill up rapidly. The "drop date" of March 21 means we cannot guarantee the availibility of a cabin after that date.
Bear in mind, if you're still undecided about registering, you can, in theory, register up to a couple days before embarkation, May 31. But in actuality, after March 21 the chances of obtaining a cabin diminish with every passing day. After that date, Wanda will continue to accept registrations, but only up to the point the ship is filled.
So, if you haven't already signed on, we urge you to get your registration in now and the cabin of your choice will be nailed down.
AGAIN, we request all current registrants to mail or phone in your fare balances so Wanda receives them in California by March 14.
If you have any questions, post them here.
Thanks,
Leni

Hey Gal!
I'm getting a refund - enough to buy a tux!
Thanks for all the work you do on the cruise!
Regards,
TS
I'm using my savings to buy a ravishing evening gown to go with your tux.
(We're both fibbing, of course!).
On the other hand, last cruise, several freeper gents wore tuxes on the formal night. They looked so devastatingly handsome and elegant.
The days of Cary Grant are not over, ladies. Hooray!

Special diets are catered to. Plenty of fresh fruits, healthy cereals and the like are available for breakfast. Daily lunch and dinner menus feature selections that are low in fat, calories, sodium and cholesterol. All lunch and dinner menus also feature vegetarian choices.
Crumb-crunchers have a variety of selections on lunch and dinner menus with such choices as Pizza Deluxe, Cheese-a-Burger and Spaghetti Mama Mia. Soda pop is free for kids 12 and under during meals in the main dining room (not in the Lido Deck dining area).
Coffee, tea and iced tea come with meals. Soda for adults is extra as are adult beverages. But you can purchase a "soda card" at the purser's desk at the beginning of the cruise for a nominal sum. It gives you unlimited sodas for the entire week anywhere on ship.
If you're sunning or reading in a comfy deck lounge chair, stewards will bring you icy banana coladas, bloody marys or anything your thirst desires.
Ice cream, frozen yogurt and freshly-made snacks, such as homemade cookies and brownies, are available in the Lido area almost anytime.
Twenty-four hour complimentary room service is available throughout your voyage. Simply choose from the menu located in your stateroom and phone to place your order.
For a continental breakfast delivered to your stateroom door, fill out one of the order forms and hang it on your doorknob before going to bed. Your order will be picked up while you sleep and delivered in the morning at the time you specified. If you selected a cabin with a verandah, nothing could be finah than to be an outdoor dinah watching the peaceful, blue Caribbean sea.
Cruisers may find that on certain evenings, such as after an exhilarating day in port or at the beach, they desire a very casual dinner. That's why the Triumph has a "Seaview Bistro".
Every evening, a section of the indoor/outdoor Lido deck restaurants is converted to Seaview Bistro. Guests may "come as they are" any time between 6-9:30 PM for a delicious array of dinner choices. Pastas, steaks, prime rib, grilled chicken, specialty salads and luscious desserts are available, along with a daily chef's special.
Many people say the number one reason they cruise for a getaway week is FOOD. Meaning they not only eat like kings and queens, but for an entire week in life's yearly order of things, they don't have to prepare lists and menus, shop, hang over a hot stove and clean up the mess afterward.
Hey, I'm all for THAT!
Leni
Cool ... so we're going to eat like they did on a bad 60s Irwin Allen sci-fi TV series?
(VBEG)
Ditto.
I've already been threatened with bodily harm if I don't bring back Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee for my cubicle mate. And, I've almost inveigled another into coming along, and he's pure dee 100 percent liberal (snicker).
I have orders from my nephew for a couple of bottles. Then, my sister wants me to pick up a little baba au rhum cake, and my other sister also wants some Blue Mountain coffee, and my neighbor wants a bottle of genuine tropical rum punch, and my son wants...........
