WABI TV reported Friday that the Maine National Guard Family Assistance Center has received about 30 complaints from children of deployed soldiers concerning Principals, Teachers and Guidance Counselors reportedly demeaning the role of their deployed parent. Some children involved are 7 to 9 years of age.
Here is a letter written to a friend of mine from the Maine Army National Guard:
"Thank you for your interest on this most troubling matter. Our Family Assistance Centers have reported cases from Aroostook County to Southern Maine. We are reluctant to give out specific schools and the individuals involved in the interest of giving the education community a chance to address the problem itself. Also, parents wanted the opportunity to pursue the issue through their local school boards first.
In all, we have over thirty complaints that name schools and individual principals, teachers and guidance counselors. If one considers that these complaints come from just the parents who attended our briefings and only from children who told their parents, we are concerned that the problem may be more widespread than we know.
We are recording the complaints, and I will personally visit these educators to express our concern as a professional organization and ask for their cooperation.
Ultimately, our main concern and first responsibility is the safety of our children during these uncertain times. Maine has a core of dedicated and professional educators, but we will challenge any individual who places our children at risk due to their own political ideologies."

O'Reilly would be good if Sean Hannity doesn't get on it.
If Hannity gets on it, his radio program and tv show will get the word. I think that Sean is like #3 in radio listeners in talk radio host ratings.

Motherbear does make a good point. I hadn't thought of that myself.
Everyone has the right to disagree with our national policy. They can write their Congress critters, the White House or go out in the street with a sign that says "Bush is a big doo-doo". But this crosses a line. Opposing national policy by undermining the families of servicemen/women THROUGH the children!?!
Yes, I agree, this BS should be drug out into the light. Ordinarily when I spew some hyperbolic rhetoric like "Nuke Beijing" or "Nuke the Blue Zones" I expect it to be taken as just that, hyperbolic rhetoric. In this case, however, if this nonsense continues I will be quite serious in recommending that these people be drug out into the street and ... given their due...

Mr Texokie and I emailed Hannity about this on Sunday. I would urge other freepers to follow suit! He can be reached at hannity.com. It was very simple to do. We sent him our opinion and the article as posted by bogeybob and requested that he look into it.

Thanks, Grampa Dave!
Again, for lurkers and freepers new to this thread, one can email Hannity very easily and quickly at hannity.com
It is possible to email the Gordon Liddy show at liddyshow.us.
I'm certain that other freepers can provide email addies to other conservative talk radio hosts.

Hey, Mud, have you seen this thread yet? The liberal teachers and school staffs (staves?) in Maine have assaulted the innocent school children of DEPLOYED SERVICEMEN by telling them their parents are 'bad people for going to war.'
If you are so moved, what is the possibility of using your considerable talents to highlight this issue? Please consider putting it into the lap of your Muse and see if something comes back, OK?
NonValueAdded has cautioned us to be careful about spreading this story to places where the deployed servicemen would see it because of the possible detriment to morale that it could cause. I understand that someone did mention this on the canteen thread and NVA has promised the servicemen that we would watch their back in this issue. I, for one do back up that promise as much as I can.
Just thought you might like to know about this. Thanks.

Thankyou. Tensions are liable to rise much higher over issues like this after the battle actually begins. The press needs to pick this up and the authorities need to deal with this responsibly or it will get ugly. The whole thing is somewhat of a joke and a game to the left. If they don't draw some lines of decency not to cross themselves they will be drawn for them. That is only natural.
So far the authorities we have heard back from are passing it off as inconsequential. They couldn't be more wrong.

Well said, TigersEye. This thing is much more than just a rock on our collective conservative shoe. It is a REAL injury and MUST be redressed!

It is a REAL injury and MUST be redressed!I think it should cease. The insult should be addressed. Addressed in a manner that makes it clear it won't be tolerated. If it isn't this behaviour will proliferate and the result will be nasty for everybody.
