The little brain washed commie in training said

"...the government's priorities are not on bettering the quality of life for all of its people..."

Look at that statement for a moment.

First of all, it is NOT the government's job to "better the quality of life " for anybody. It is up to individuals to better their OWN lives. The govt. needs to stay out of the way of that.

Second, she has the gall to refer to us as the government's people. Stupid little twit, we DO NOT belong to the government, it's the other way around.

It is painfully clear from this one statement of hers that she has never been taught much in the way of facts, at least as they pertain to the history or Constitution of this country. She is clearly ignorant.

Manhattanville President Richard Berman said he told Smith "what she's doing is courageous and difficult.''

Oh, sure. In a free country it's very courageous to give the flag the cold shoulder. Think of the terrifying and heinous repercussions she faces! Dirty looks, disapproval... maybe even dislike!!! Oh, how, how can she bear it???

Manhattanville Presidnt Richard Berman said he told Smith, "What she's doing is courageous and difficult."

What would Berman say if the stated reason for her action was to protest Roe v. Wade, or to encourage gun ownership?

Smith is protesting "that the government's priorities are...... on expanding its own power."

Perhaps she's a bit too young to know that the Dems are the KINGS of FedGuv expansion.

""For some time now, the inequalities that are embedded into the American system have bothered me. As they are becoming progressively worse and it is clear that the government's priorities are not on bettering the quality of life for all of its people, but rather on expanding its own power, I cannot, in good conscience, salute the flag,'' Smith said in a statement released Thursday."

Stupid, silly little bi*ch.

Say what you want about this person, but she's right here. Most folks around here used to realize that fundamental fact.

I wonder if Mr. Berman would consider her stand courageous if Manhattanville were to lose federal funding...

Well she's half right, actually.

Smith is protesting "that the government's priorities are not on bettering the quality of life for all of its people, but rather on expanding its own power.''

She's right about government being concerned with the expansion of its own power. What she fails to grasp is, it is BUSINESS (Capitalism) that expands the quality of life for all. Government can't do that, since it doesn't CREATE anything, it merely destroys resources.

president@mville.edu

"Educating ethically and socially responsible leaders since 1841."

JUST SENT TO BERMAN:

President Berman, supporting a student who turns her back to the flag while we are at war against radical Islam and saying of Toni Smith, "what she's doing is courageous and difficult," is beneath contempt. You are a moral coward.

I am sending this story to my son-in-law and the crew aboard the USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT. As I'm sure Josh would say -- "Dad, I'm even proud to defend *ssholes like Richard Berman and Toni Smith."

Maybe your disgusting student should have been born in a country that made her wear a burqa. Then, she might appreciate this country.

My wife, a naturalized American who grew up in Burma, sees this crap on the news and asks me "What is wrong with these American people?" I never know exactly how to explain, except that people that have never lived in a country with an oppressive government sometimes think that the American government is the worst. My wife wants those people to talk to her or go live in Burma, then see how much they hate the USA.

Pretty accurate description of the Clinton years and the legacy that followed.

In America she has every right to turn away from the flag, and I have every right to call her a dyke.

No, its neither. Its sanctimonious, class envious and grand standing. Gee.. you are a ball player, who gives a sh*t what you think about non-sports? Most athletes realize that, not this pretentious primadonna.
