I don't think Hoover is an adequate analogy. Hoover got a bad rap because he happened to be prez during the depression. But it had already started when he came to office.

Those of us who voted for Dubya are incensed, not at his economic policies, but because he is prostituting America to immigrants; because he lied about Islam being a religion of peace; and because his administration has implicitly embraced the homosexual community.

Yes, you're right, I cannot speak for all Bush supporters. But I can tell you this: the Bush supporters I have spoken with are equally upset.

Bush has alienated the religious right by his acceptance of homosexuals and muslims. He has also alienated all who are injured by immigration.

Seriously, do you believe Islam is a religion of peace and that it has contributed much to world civilization over the years? Do you believe anybody who is reasonably well informed could believe such a thing? If you answer honestly, you'll say "no" to all the above.

Therefore, anybody who would answer in the affirmative is not telling the truth.

Hoover was a business man who made money off of natural resources before being elected for office. They have just passed down the power since him in the Republican party. Ike warned about them in his Military-Industrial Complex message. Ike did not play along with them. Ronny did. . Daddy did, though he screwed up on rasing taxes, bringing him down in the power structure support scheme. W is, and will.

Here's what I think. I think the religious right elected GW. I also think the religious right has been alienated by GW.

I think that the economy has been artificially stimulated by an inflated housing market. I think the inflated housing market has been supported by low interest rates. Interest rates have to go up. It's impossible for them to continue going lower, indefinately.

When interest goes up, people will not be able to afford new homes. When interest goes up, people with variable mortgages are not going to be able to keep their homes. Look at the Great Depression: a failed housing market, first, and then a failed automotive market were two key ingredients.

Who do you think will get the blame? Americans don't care about truth. They want a scapegoat. And the head scapegoat is GW.

O.K. So what happens in 2004? GW has alienated the religious right which elected him in the first place. Joe Q. Citizen blames GW because Joe Q. can't make his adjustable mortgage payments.

This is all happening as we speak. We're in a house of cards.

Do I believe Islam is a religion of peace? For some Muslims yes, for some, no. Just like for SOME Christians, Christianity is a religion of love and compassion, while for others it is a religion of judgement and intolerance.

If you do not understand why the President said those words after 9-11, you are not thinking about the security of the nation, nor do you understand the dynamic in the war on terror.

As far as homosexuals, he simply doesn't discriminate against them. That is the LAW, in case you haven't noticed, and he swore to uphold the LAW when he was sworn in.

I am not getting into the immigration discussion, because for those who are anti-Mexican, there is no improvement good enough with the exception of a 20-foot high electrified barb wire fence manned by machine gunners and backed up by land mines.

At any rate, your circle is disgruntled. People I know are quite pleased. I doubt either of us has the full story on the electorate as a whole, and I simply didn't like your claiming to speak for all of us.
