I use the Reynolds heavy duty type.

I hate to burst your bubble, but Reynolds specializes in aluminum. I don't think you can even find real tin foil anymore.

Yeah, I know: Picky, picky, picky.

No, I haven't. And the Dallas Morning News doesn't have anything about it either.

Chemical plant fires happen quite often in Texas. I'll check the Houston Chronicle and see what they have.

Hopefully, it's nothing terror related.

Thanks for the heads up...

I bet an oil refinery doesn't have tight security like a nuclear plant.

Wrong. I'm sure there are exceptions, but most refineries have such tight security that if you fart the wrong way outside the front gates, they are all over you.

Texas is a big state... Crawford is near Waco, Midland is in far West Texas....

It's so far west that you only have to drive another 350 miles to get to El Paso.

What brand of foil do you use and what type? I use the Reynolds heavy duty type.

Sorry I don't have pictures, but aluminum foil of any kind is like a glass window to mind-control rays. You need mu-metal.

How Do PMT Mu Metal Shields Hold Up To Deformation? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The question is how well do mu metal shields work after they've been dropped, dented and completely deformed. Using a Hall probe and some old pmt mu metal shields we performed the following tests. Magnetic fields were measured with the Hall probe aligned vertically with the mu metal shields (the shields sitting as shown below). With this orientation the probe was nearly aligned with the Earth's magnetic field and read ~350 mGauss. Fields inside the shields were measured as nearly as possible to the centers of the shields.

And if you want something durable, here's the lifesaving link.

Cockroaches just can't resist boric acid, especially if you put some chocolate in it.

I don't know about South Midland, but President Bush grew up in Midland, Texas. He may well know some of the people involved in the plant.

I saw a father here in Chicago who went to the morgue, came away with a brown manilla envelope and said "This is my daughter" that stuck with me!

Me either. The Dallas Morning News and the Houston Chronicle don't have this story. I just checked again.
