I didn't see a reference to JDL anywhere in the article. What are you talking about?

Unfortunately, he is right. The left openly supports prejudice against Jews, real Catholics, and consevative Christians.
I do have one gripe with the author, though. He says," Not long ago I was chatting with a prominent Washington figure in a green room..." The person he describes here should be named and identified as the bigot he is.

He carries the burden of their hatred, which emanates not only from the
Arab world and France, but from some people in our own country, which I had so long underestimated.
In the world in which we live, be proud of the list of those who hate you.

I'm best known for appearances on PBS and NPR, which surely have the most civilized audiences in the land.
Rhetorical question: assuming that the audiences are 'the most civilized', what does that have to do with not being anti-Semitic?

The anti-defamation league and the JDL are a bunch of Jewish extremists and shouldn't be listened to in the first placeWell, that's pretty much what they'd each say about the other. Congrats, you're in agreement with both.

Please dont misunderstand this statement, but the Jews are very powerful in the world, and in the USA in particular, and I think certain parts of the world are envious. They hate America for the same reasons. We are powerful. I for one am glad to be on the side of the Jews. Together we make a powerful team.

it is incredibly ironic, that - in the blind hatred for the US - the radical left is aligning itself with the very forces which practice what they purport to despise - those who abuse and oppress women, kill homosexuals and stifle free speech.
The Left is coming apart, and it's a beautiful thing to watch.

Thank you for posting this. And I agree with the later poster who said the author should have identified by name the high-powered bigot who made the exceptionally stupid comment to him in theGreen Room. Stupidity should always be exposed and condemned. My latest column, just posted on UPI and FR, deals in part with this issue. The title is "Buncombe Rides Again, and Again." It went up on FR just shy of 5 a.m. today.

I was chatting with a prominent Washington figure in a green room. "You people have infested everywhere," he said Why doesn't Brooks reveal the name of this "prominent Washington figure"? Why would he provide cover to such a person?

Why doesn't Brooks reveal the name of this "prominent Washington figure"? Why would he provide cover to such a person? Perhaps it was Heil Hillary! and he's afraid. Sounds like something she'd say to non-liberal untermensch.

Ive often wondered the same thing. It would be nice if one of our Jewish brethren would shed some light on that situation.

"And I'm best known for appearances on PBS and NPR, which surely have the most civilized audiences in the land." Ah yes, the nice left wing people who threaten me with death for holding a Bush sign.
