WASHINGTON - President Bush not only has a growing number of Democrats taking him on, now President Bartlet is stepping into the lists.Actor Martin Sheen, who plays fictional President Josiah Bartlet on NBC's "The West Wing," is headlining a new anti-war ad campaign.
"Our message to Washington will be clear," Sheen says in an ad that will start airing today. "Don't invade Iraq. We can contain Saddam Hussein without killing innocent people, diverting us from the war on terrorism and putting us all at risk."
Sheen's ad will help launch a "virtual march on Washington" set for Wednesday. Activists hope peaceniks will swamp D.C. with a coordinated flood of calls, faxes and E-mails on that day.
Participants who register at the group's Web site - WinWithoutWarUS.org - will be directed to make their phone calls at specific times. The idea is to record one call per minute at the White House and in every Senate office.
The group was beaten to the domain WinWithoutWar.org. That site urges nuking Baghdad and says "this message NOT brought to you by actors that think we care what they say."

Actors who can't even manage their own families lives criticize a man like President Bush, and Tony Blair, who are responsible for the eating and sleeping of people all around the world by what they decide to do or not do.
When men like these hear about the rape and tourture and maiming and death, and cry and hold wives and sons and daughters of loved ones lost in a building just because they went to work on time, and they know if they don't do something about it more death and horror will rain down upon others whose only crime was to go to school or work that day
And on top of that they are forced to play some game trying to get the killers and their supporters to agree to some half assed resolution rather than go in and blow the son's of bitches into the fine mist they deserve...
That's when I thank God I'm an American who understands that there are leaders and sheep in the world, and we can thank our lucky stars the sheep we had for 8 years has been replaced by a man who knows who he is and what it means to head the most powerful nation on earth

Doesn't Sheen realize that "terrorism" is a tactic used by our enemies; that killing as many innocents in a hit and run attack is their military strategy? If we want to win this war, we must remove the weapons that support and fuel this strategy.
Geeze, can Sheen possibly be this stupid?
This is so stupid on so many levels.
We've been "containing" Saddam for over ten years. He's still a brutal murderous dictator who kills his own people and who uses rape and torture to oppress them, he's still doing everything he can to obtain or develop weapons off mass destruction that he says he plans to use against one of our allies or against us, and he is still sponsoring terrorism. Containment clearly has not worked.
And why can't these morons understand that the upcoming war in Iraq is part of the overall war on terrorism?
Sheen is a freakin' idiot - but we already knew that.
