I received the following email about 20 mins ago...this is the result of an LAPD shooting of a suspect last night. Stay off the MTA Blue Line and out of the area for now. LASD and LAPD have commandposts set up.
Where is Field Marshall Bratton now??
LASD Transit Bureau on scene at 55th St. & Holmes Ave. re: protest. Units reporting apptox. 60 people that have "broken several water hydrants" and blocked blue line tracks. LASD, LAPD, Housing Authority, and LA County Police on assisting. Units requesting supervision, gas, AR-15, and beanbags. Working on 484.1125.

But the weather's nice there.
Ain't hot enough there for a "real" riot (er...uprising). There are rules for this sort of thang, and they absolutely require tank tops and those stupid cargo shorts for participation......they need another ten or fifteen degress for dat.

You're so welcome.
Anything else you'd like to know about Southern California, just ask.
I worked in criminal court as a court reporter, and I was allowed to carry a gun to and from work. Then left the .9 mm in the Marshal's office while in court. Heck, my judge had a Glock in his desk drawer in the courtroom. His whole staff new how to shoot.

What a tragedy........
of course the media is already placed in the house, on the sofa, with a microphone and camera in the face of those close to the family.

Yep. Two officers in a rowboat went out and got the pooch.

My mom is a court reporter too (in LA), and I think had to take a depo out on the West Side today. She usually drives through downtown too...I hope she missed this!
I'm with you, ain't it great to be an LA refugee? ;)

There are a lot of routes (freeways) to get to the West Side of LA. You can go southeast to get northwest, et cetera. It doesn't sound as if she would be near the Blue Line.
Hope you talk to her tonight, and let us in on what happened on the freeways.

What part of town is the Blue Line located in? Is it near where the Rodney King riots were?
