Since these two bozos "think" that the weapon will be used destructively in their districts, the law should specify that NOBODY IN THEIR DISTRICTS MAY PURCHASE THE WEAPON.
There.
Perhaps the gang-bangers will sue under the 14th Amendment. Let them.

Correction: Magnum Research makes a revolver similar to the one this idiot is trying to ban in .45 Long Colt/.410. Its not 12 gauge, but its a start.

What has happened to Illinois? These two dim bulbs couldn't even function as UN weapons inspectors. "Well I don't have any real information and haven't even seen a picture of one, and I admit I don't know anything about weapons but this reporter said you could kill a large bear with one, and that scares me. Because I'm a lot smaller than a bear, you see. And anything that scares me is a military-style assault weapon. And everyone knows they're bad. We'll just ban them even before we come up with a catchy nickname like 'Friday-night fifty' or something. Yeah, that's it."

"You don't go out hunting deer with a revolver," Davis said.
I don't know what planet this guy lives on.
I've hand gun hunted for a lot of years. Both small and large game!

The specs on the two revolvers listed above (below your post) show weights of greater than 4.5 pounds to 5 pounds. That is WITHOUT ammunition in them. Add more for 5 rounds of kick a$$ and you you go even higher...concealability my a$$.

You don't go out hunting deer with a revolver,"I personally know three people who do just that. This guy is an idiot.

...said Rep. Danny Davis (D-Ill.). "I think guns are made to kill people. That's my opinion." You got a problem with that, fascist?

I would pay cash money to watch some gangbanger bust off a cap from his new "fiddy" caliber while using the one-handed sideways gangsta grip. Do these blissninnies understand that most of the mayhem done on the street is inflicted by small caliber Lorcins, Jennings, etc.?

The 500 Magnum sounds like a good gun to take with you to the back country of Wyoming or Alaska. Somehow, I can't see convenience store robbers or drug dealers bothering to hoist one of these around in their daily activities.

Too much idiocy contained within the story to comment about.
I think I'll get one for the hell of it. A friend of mine went to the trade show in Orlando where they unveiled this. They were giving out(maybe selling) the cartidge on key chains. Its HUGE.

Concealability ?
In what ? A '62 Buick ?

The arrogant ignorance of the anti-gunners never ceases to amaze me. Like when they deny that this gun's primary use will be hunting, versus self-defense. Like when they assert that this will become the goblins' weapon of choice.
Personally, I'm waiting for S&W to come out with a version with a 3 inch barrel for concealed carry - whether you believe Fackler or Marshall and Sanow, it'll take care of any goblin you hit.

My darker side would like to see the counterpoint of the title: ".50 Caliber Revolver Targets Democrats for Nationwide Ban".
To: Garegaupa
I've seen those before ... they are nice but would shatter under the pressures that I put my guns through ....
Now a good idea would be a 45/454 revolver with a 12 gause (or even a long 50 cal shtogun shell) center barrel has some very interesting possibilities

"It's hard for me to rationalize any particular need or purpose" for the 500 Magnum, said Rep. Danny Davis (D-Ill.). "I think guns are made to kill people. That's my opinion." That's right... and the 500 Magnum is made to kill really BIG people.
To: Blood of Tyrants
"Those of us who live in big, urban centers have a different fear and a different take than some people who may live in different environments." Sounds like the problem is one of living in the wrong place, or so he thinks.
He added that its high power combined with its concealability could make it the "weapon of choice" for urban gangs.....
"If you live in a place like Chicago, and you know the amount of violence that is perpetrated by individuals who grow-up with the idea that having, handling and using a gun is a way-of-life in terms of establishing yourself on the streets or as part of the culture, then I'm afraid that many of these individuals will, in fact, acquire this weapon," Davis said.
This guy's problem is the same as most of these gun grabbers. They simply project their own weaknesses and inabilities to cope on to others, and think that others will blow up in rage and grab the nearest gun and start blasting away, therefore others would do the same. In a nutshell, they are fearful of themselves.
It is they who need to get a grip, and realize that the majority of gun owners are not psychotic, weak willed, temper tantrum throwing liberals.

"It's hard for me to rationalize..." Yeah, we could tell, Dan. Try deep breathing and humming quietly for 10 minutes... let your mind go blank. You'll feel much better.
