Six senior Hamas members were killed Sunday afternoon in Gaza City as they were preparing an unmanned drone for use on an intelligence gathering or terror mission. Hamas blamed Israel for targeting members of its organization. Israeli officials vowed to continue acting against Hamas. The head of Hamas's military wing was killed in an arrest attempt Monday.
Riyad Abu-Zaid was shot and killed by IDF forces attempting to arrest him near the al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza. Another Hamas member was killed in the operation as well.
Haaretz reported that Abu-Zaid was considered to be the replacement for Hamas leader Salah Shehade, killed by the IDF last July. Israel Radio reported that Abu-Zaid had replaced Mohammed Deif, who was commander of Hamas's military wing until he was seriously wounded in an IDF assassination attempt in September.

Uh, not really, your article dated February 14th, doesn't mention 6 hamas were killed February 16th (17th over there). Nice try though.
To: Indy Pendance; Publius Maximus
How is an article dated Feb 14th suppose to include the deaths of the six Hamas members last night? I think Publius is correct..

The article does talk about the how's and why's of the drones, but the gist of this article, IMO, is that 6 hamas were killed. They did not scoop these deaths. I don't have a problem with debka, for the most part. They did have a tendency to be unrealible on many stories that were debunked. It's also disturbing that some here will hail debka as the 'holy grail' of web sites. Why wasn't the debka article posted on fr?
From a previous tread:
""Armies of drones will exist and will help not only to combat conventional battles, but also to assist in disaster prevention/recovery and homeland defense operations," he said. "In that respect, this approach will definitely make the world safer as it performs functions that humans cannot support.
"As for the conventional battlefield, the problem of out-of-control armies of drones will not occur; it will be prevented by the fact that there is a limit with the level of decisions made by the drones and the scope of their range. In other words, the drones can intelligently organize to execute a mission in the most efficient way. But, it is the commander that 'pulls the trigger.'"

Publius I think was talking about Debka having scooped everyone on the drones..

Wonder if this qualifies as the first successful boost phase intercept of an enemy missile?
