German Hypocracy
Posted on 02/15/2003 3:49:06 PM PST by americanbychoice
I just read in the Frankfurt Allgemeine, (FAZ.DE) that the German Government had knowledge since the 9th of August 2002 about Iraq smallpox WMD. The paper is also publishing the momo sent to the Government by their BND (German CIA). The German Health Minister has obtained enough vaccinations for the entire population. Schroeder is still maintaining that they don't have any WMD. Even now he is claiming he didn't get a report. Those of you reading German, look at the copy of the official Memo. This lying A*&*^le pisses me off.

Please see the above posts regarding forming a German reader's ping list. Let me know if you would like to be on the list.
Thanks

Oh please, don't do a German reader only list. It would be far better to translate them into english and let all Freepers read them.
Those of us who are linguistically challanged would greatly appreciate it.
To: eabinga
I think Merkel needs to ask Herr Schroeder when he got the report and if he ever read it....and who decided to buy all this vaccine (obviously someone had a ton of money to 'waste' and wanted to just vaccine for no reason at all...if we believe both Fischer and Schroeder). Make Schroeder answer the question this time instead of just sitting there looking presidential. This guy has a history of just looking dimwitted when he has to.

In fact, he has been very good about translating articles and news from the German media for FreeRepublic.
I sure hope you and other Freepers interested in Germany will participate in German threads.
If I offended anyone I'm sorry.

I take that back. It was a selfish request on my part and I acknowledge my laziness at not learning a language that is very important to know right now. Sorry.
To: tictoc
Oh, you didn't offend me tictoc. I noticed that most of the people requesting the list have been very generous in translating. I thought about that right after I posted.
To: tictoc
BTW, your translations are very much appreciated. I used to grab the articles and try running them through the Babblefish translators and only ended up more confused then I was when reading it in the original form ;o)
To: longjack
May I please be included on the ping list? My German's getting rusty, but I still manage okay and am interested.

The ping list, as we talked about it, is to give the other Freepers who read German a heads up when someone finds a telling story written in German.
As eabinga suggested, The finder would briefly describe the source, then input from other German readers would embellish or analyze as necessary.
It's often occured that someone posts a great source that I didn't find until days or weeks later.
I wouldn't mind if non-German readers are on the list, however, the focus of the list we dicussed was to post articles in German, so I wouldn't want to annoy people with a ping if they couldn't read the article.
On the other hand, the ensuing discussion may be interesting enough to some, and the discussion itself may make it unnecessary to translate the article.
I don't always have the time to translate, or an article will show up on a newswire in English a few hours later. A ping list for German readers will keep the thread on the board longer. A ping list will also increase the chance that one of us finds an English translation.
So, if people don't mind being pinged for German articles, it's fine with me. Let me know McGavin999.

what gets me is that Schroeder and Fischer stood up and said " we are not convinced". They had this material since the 9th of August extermination bump

I can usually decipher the rather simple language used in the press, and would be grateful if you would consider me for your list. If the article is too difficult or technical for me I promise to stop short of a brain hemorage.
