I much rather send someone like her my donations than to wealthy New York stockbrokers's families.

There is probably a lot missing in this story, but if her hubby was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor, then it certainly deserves a bump back to "prime time."

AB, this is in your neck of the woods.
Do you know anything more about what can be done to help on such short notice?

Sorry, JH2, the previous post should have been sent to you, also. Do you know if this lady's mortgage has been met?

That's what I was thinking. I'm trying to find out if her mortgage has been paid. I'll get back to you if I find out anything.

I live in the area. I wrote the Birmingham News last night. I have seen no local coverage of this story, but I don't doubt for one minute that it isn't real. I just wish the local guys would get on it, because there are a lot of people here who would help.
Maybe someone has a master list of email addy's for Birmingham TV, News, and Radio outlets?

Actually, B'ham is a long way off from here and I've heard nothing about it. I looked through the local news, TV stations, etc, but there's nothing on it.
To: Jael
Sorry, can't help you with the local stuff. I live north of the Mason-Dixon line. Am trying to contact Bobby Randle, but so far no luck. Will try again later today.
