Frank Wright of Lanesboro, Minn., marches with other protesters in rural Harmony, Minn., Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003, holding a sign reading 'What Would Mr. Roberts Do?' Wright had the perfect idea: Use a beloved television character to make his point about a potential war with Iraq. The only problem was that he meant to write 'Mr. Rogers,' he explained 'Perhaps I don't watch enough TV.' (AP Photo/Janet Hostetter)

I love Pulver's scene with the "firecracker" and the subsequent destruction of the laundry room! My favorite scene is where Pulver is trying to impress newly arrived nurses by giving them a tour of the ship.
First he snaps an order to Ward Bond, "Flemish up the lines aft there Donnie."
Then he dips a ladle into a steaming cauldron on deck. Upon tasting, he spits it out, offering, "Needs more salt, Cookie." As Lemmon walks away, you see the sailor slide a stack of dirty dishes into the tub!

What luck! Today, Sunday February 16, AMC (American Movie Classics) is airing "Mr. Roberts" at 2:00 mountain time. That would be 4 pm EST and so on.
For those that haven't seen it--tune in!

Who the hell is Mr. Roberts? If you get AMC they are showing the movie TODAY. How fortuitous!

Mr. Roberts
A 1955 movie set in the US Navy in WWII.
The themes are Patriotic and dedicated to our American cause.
Maybe his sign is pretty good after all.

I love your questions! Good thinking! Of course, they were not dissuaded, I am sure, since it's more important to feel than to think for this crowd.
nutmeg, thanks for the flag. Good laughs!
