The Dems stepped in it, big time. Hispanics have been calling in to Rush---he took four in a row, and said he could have taken 100 today---who are outraged over the Dems' treatment of Estrada.
Every one claimed to be either a Dem or a "former" Dem, with a couple of them virtually switching today. They ALL spoke highly of Bush. The idiot Dems have no idea how badly this is hurting them!!!

Only if, by your logic, these people are not smart enough to know two or more languages.
So why address them in Spanish

The achievers in minority groups are never the ones liberals want people to emulate. Liberalism is not about achievement; it's about remaining dependent and in need. It's the same old tired, worn out argument: you're not really a minority if you're not in poverty - and certainly not if you vote Republican.Democrats are for minorities...as long as they stay in their place.

Are you assuming that all people who would listen can't speak passable English? Are you quilty of what the Democrats are doing? In any event, some of those listened what make their views known to others who could convey their reactions. Also, polls could reflect their feelings. Recall how favorable the reaction was when Bush campaigned in Spanish.

So, Bob, I guess you would have excluded the Pennsylvania German (Deutsch) from Washington's ARMY because they couldn't speak ENGLISH? They needed interpreters to communicate with HQ. Thank God George Washington wasn't such an anglophile that he excluded people as Americans because they spoke a different language than he did.
Come come
Ain't a like situation at all and you know it
I hate it when the democrats play the race acrd and that is exactly what the GOP is doing now
Estrada should be defended on his merits not his etnicity
The GOP was wrong when they had Thomas talk about LYNCHING and this is wrong

Well I think it's the lowest of the low to play the race card.
I am kinda tickled, though, I won't deny it, about all this coming back to bite the dems in the a$$.
Vamos!

The Republicans (or Conservatives) believe in the INDIVIDUAL's right to prosper which is true freedom.
Yeah may be true then why harp on Estradas Etnicity

I remember back in the campaign, candidate Bush tapped into something really important. He knew Americans were sick and tired of the catfighting, politics of personal destruction, and obstructiveness. He knew it, he campaigned on making a change in Washington, and you know what? He has kept his promise.
Often...and to our chagrin sometimes, President Bush was willing to compromise on programs in order to improve the climate in Washington. He was seeing the big picture. He promised to change the tone in Washington, he kept his promise, and I believe that "promise made, promise kept", is one reason his popularity is so high. People trust him to keep his word.
And now....again...people see the democrats spitting him in the eye, still obstructing, still full of hateful revenge for losing in 2000 and 2004, and putting all that rage ahead of what's good for the country.
It's bad enough democrats aren't meeting this president half way, what's worse is that now our country is in peril, danger all around, and the democrats are doing everything they can to weaken this trusted president, commander in chief.
I think Rush is right...people are about to get real disgusted with Democrats over the Estrada nomination.

HELL, I'm Hispanic and I'm thrilled to death that FINALLY, thank God Almighty, FINALLY my community GET'S IT!! This could very well be the stake in the heart for the RATS!! This little adventure of theirs and the Lawsuit in the courts right now over Bush attacking Iraq without a declaration of WAR, will be the DEATH BLOW to those EVIL RATS and their liberal whore followers!!

But I'll call you on this one. I seem to notice that Hawaii just elected a REPUBLICAN ASIAN WOMAN as its first GOP Gov.! Governor Linda Lingle (R) is not an Asian; she's a white woman. However, her running mate, Lt. Governor, James Aiona Jr, is an Asian.
To: mystery-ak
Absolutely. I've got a few veterans and active duty military in my family also. Very proud of all of them.

http://www.ifr-ors.com/ors_2_live/clients/moa/estrada/index.cfm?A=910&L=NULL&P=NULL That's an excellent online petition demanding Tom Daschle let the Estrada nomination go to the floor for a vote.

I still don't agree with him signing CFR, the Farm Bill, expanding "education", leafing Clinton eco-fascist Roadless Area Initiative EO standing...
I support him because he is doing the right thing wrt terror. I can't stand his domestic policy. Quite frankly, i am not sure the "tone" needs to be changed.
The Other Side certainly hasn't changed their tone...

You can slice and dice this any way you want but the GOP is playing the RACE CARD
You want to say fight fire with fire say it
But the race card is being played
I was digusted when Thomas had to resort to talk about lynching and black males etc. It sounded like he was groveling
Whoever in the GOP who came up with that strategy was a creep

Did you ever read "The Real Anita Hill" book? Justice Thomas said he did feel like it was a lynching.

The Democrats CANNOT do other than they are doing, because to them, ABORTION is the ultimate value. They SUSPECT Estrada of being pro-life, and thus they cannot do anything but trash him. No one is qualified to be a judge who is not vociferously, fanatically, pro-abortion. The Democrats have become completely fanaticized on the subject of abortion.
