CONDITION REPORT!!
I had a lovely phone conversation with Rose a little while ago, and she wanted me to let everyone know how she's doing.
She says above all, she IS getting well and is doing fine. She is being meticulous about following doctors' and nurses'orders and isnt trying to rush things (THANK GOD!! - I told her we are very proud of her for that!-- it isnt easy for her!)
She feels like her recovery is taking so long this time, but she definitely feels the progress. Her ribs have healed and she is being treated for anemia. Her surgical wounds have been experiencing some healing difficulties because she has a skin condition which has been interfering with the formation of healthy skin at the wound site. (Psoriasis.) She has been doing a LOT of sleeping.
She states that the surgery itself has been a HUGE success. Most of the pain she was experiencing is gone or has been mitigated. Her left leg is not in pain, but is still a bit numb. Her right leg is still quite a bit painful. The doctor has given her to understand that it may take the nerve connections in the legs 3-5 years to heal, so we are very hopeful about the ultimate prognosis here.
She wanted me to let everyone know she joined us and remains with us in all our prayers and concerns for the troops. Our military is very precious to her and she is very much a part of our prayer circle, even though she isnt plugged in (literally!) to the computer.
Right now, she is completely computerless and expects to get it back in a couple of weeks, but she is still being told to stay away from it. She said it has been difficult being away from all of us, but she has been focusing on being a mom to her Megan and they have been enjoying a lot of good quality time together.
She has a couple of political issues/concerns she wants to bring out as possible action items for interested freepers and is hoping someone among us will share those concerns and do freeping action on them. If any of you know of particular freepers who may share her interest in these topics, please alert them, if you would.
1)Social Security Tax
She was reminding me that Clinton instituted the tax on SS income for those who are receiving benefits. She is wondering why the Republicans are not working to do away with this punative tax on elderly and people on disability.
2)Gore's Internet Tax
She also reminded me that during Clinton's tenure, Gore was instrumental in getting his invention taxed. On everyone's phone bill (seniors included!) there is a charge, not stated as a tax, but is a misc charge for the purpose of getting the internet into all schools. She is wondering why there has not been agitation by conservatives to do away with that hidden tax now that computers and the net are in all the schools?
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
We are continually grateful for the intercession and care you are giving our Yellow Rose of Texas. We are grateful that the surgeries were successful and that the prognosis is good. Father, we do place on the altar our concerns for the conditions of anemia, psoriasis, any risk for infection which broken skin can permit, and all nerve damage to the legs. We ask that you will intercede at a cellular level for the healing of these conditions. Heal any cause of them, at the physical, emotional, mental or spiritual levels according to thy will. Wrap our friend in one of our prayer blankets and comfort her during this separation we are experiencing from her. Bless all of her family and friends while she is concentrating all her energy on recovering the maximum levels of health. Cut her free from anything which is seeking to hinder her from fulfilling your divine Plan for her.
Father, as always, we do ask that our prayers be adjusted to be in accordance with thy holy perfection and that they be multiplied so that all who may be in a similar situation may benefit from the same grace and mercy we want for Rose.
amen

Thank you for the update as always. Rose is right. Clinton and Dem Congress instituted the tax (in 1993) on rich Social Security recipients (couples making more than $32,000, and I forget what the figure was for "rich" singles).
So Rose should be grateful to Clinton that she is rich.

Thank you for YRoT's update!
Healthy mind + healing body + loving to intercede = God's Kingdom advancing marvelously.
I'm glad Yellow Rose is experiencing relief and I pray it enlarges within months rather than years.

Hi TEXOKIE, just got back from a long weekend of fun at my daughters in the Rio Grande Valley, and shopping in Mexico. Happy to hear that 'Rose' is doing well. I'm still praying for ALL on our prayer list. Hugs to you!!
