Prayer Thread for Yellow Rose of Texas

Long time Freeper Yellow Rose of Texas has recently had an attempted back surgery during which her aorta, which was encased in scar tissue, was nicked and had to be repaired. In a previous prayer thread, many many folks have graciously offered their prayers and comments of encouragement to her. I spoke with Yellow Rose of Texas yesterday and here is the latest!

Her recovery to the previous surgical attempt to do the back surgery has been phenominal. She saw her doctor two days ago on Tuesday. She is doing well enough that he has scheduled her back surgery in a week for TUESDAY FEBRUARY 18, 2003. She had initially been told it would be a few weeks longer to recover, but she has amazed her doctor and he judges that she is ready for the next procedure.

Rose has asked me to thank you each and every one so very much for all your thoughts and prayers on her behalf. She asked me to quote her,

"Thank you so much. I feel each and every one of your prayers. The Good Lord is with me and my family. I dont feel scared at all. This surgery will stabilize my back and it'll all be fine. I feel so protected. I am hoping that this surgery will enable me to once more return to the freeping that I enjoy. It has seemed in my life that if something unusual can happen, it will happen to me. Please pray that the surgery be routine. NO SURPRISES!! LOL!!"

BTW,I am going to post a vanity post about the disease I had in a few minutes. I wasn't going to say anything about it,and had told others not to say anything until I was healed,but I think people need to be warned about it so they don't ignore the sympthoms until it's too late to do anything. I have no doubt some of the people here on FR will use part of the info from my vanity to attack me,but that's their problem,not mine.

Do a screen name search after 8PM EST,and you will find it. Ping everybody you know so they can learn a little about this. It might save their lives.

UPDATE ON YELLOW ROSE OF TEXAS!!

SHE'S DOING GREAT!!

I spoke with her this afternoon, and she tells me she is going to Dallas on Monday for another check up. She anticipates no problems.

She states she has been obedient to doc's orders. She has not been sitting, or doing things that would compromise her healing. That means "NO COMPUTER AND I'M GETTING CABIN FEVER!!!"

At this time, she is being kept off her arthritis medication because it interferes with healing, so that has kept her from doing her crafts. She says this is not a permanent thing, just for a little while longer. Then she can get back on it again and do her thing.

She says her pain is undercontrol, and she hopes that the doctor will give her clearance to begin doing LIMITED freeping in the next few weeks.

She wanted me to tell everyone that her niece has been going to school in France. They just got word from her that things have been VERY tense there for Americans. The niece has been living only a short distance away from where they have been gathering for anti-American protests. She has not felt althogether safe in that environment. She was supposed to stay through to the end of the school year, with only a visit home at spring break. But with spring break coming up and a ticket already in her hand for home, she has opted to quit the school and just come on back.

During the last update to you, upon invitation from Rose, I reported that my sister will be having some cataract surgery on Monday the 31st.

Heavenly Father,

We continue to thank you for bringing healing into Yellow Rose of Texas' body, especially the spinal area. We thank you for making it possible for her to return to her activities on this forum in the near days to come. Bless and protect her as she travels to Dallas for her check up on Monday. This which we pray for Rose, we pray for anyone else who is recovering from a similar physical challenge. Let this all be done according to thy will.
