Prayer Thread for Yellow Rose of Texas - THIS IS NO DRILL!!
Posted on 02/13/2003 11:28:49 AM PST by TEXOKIE
Long time Freeper Yellow Rose of Texas has recently had an attempted back surgery during which her aorta, which was encased in scar tissue, was nicked and had to be repaired. In a previous prayer thread, many many folks have graciously offered their prayers and comments of encouragement to her. I spoke with Yellow Rose of Texas yesterday and here is the latest!
Her recovery to the previous surgical attempt to do the back surgery has been phenominal. She saw her doctor two days ago on Tuesday. She is doing well enough that he has scheduled her back surgery in a week for TUESDAY FEBRUARY 18, 2003. She had initially been told it would be a few weeks longer to recover, but she has amazed her doctor and he judges that she is ready for the next procedure.
Rose has asked me to thank you each and every one so very much for all your thoughts and prayers on her behalf. She asked me to quote her,
"Thank you so much. I feel each and every one of your prayers. The Good Lord is with me and my family. I dont feel scared at all. This surgery will stabilize my back and it'll all be fine. I feel so protected. I am hoping that this surgery will enable me to once more return to the freeping that I enjoy. It has seemed in my life that if something unusual can happen, it will happen to me. Please pray that the surgery be routine. NO SURPRISES!! LOL!!"

We sure appreciate you giving us the news. Praying for healing. I hope Rosie has someone to read scriptures to her while she lays flat on her back. Just hearing His word brings comfort and peace.

UPDATE Noonish CST:
I spoke with Rose a little bit after noon. She told me she is feeling "ok." There have been some headaches, but that is to be expected following this type of surgery.
She stated that she is really sleepy all the time and has been getting good sleep. In fact, she said that it is the most sleep she has ever gotten after a surgery. I feel like this is good news on several levels.
1)Sleep is her JOB!
2)Sleep is very necessary for the healing process.
3)Pain is under reasonable control.
4)Our prayers are working!
She states that she still feels so enfolded and safe. God is GREAT!!
I asked her if she had spoken with her doctor yet, and she said no, but Mrs Rose has. I have not spoken to Mrs Rose, as she was out running some more errands. That to me, is the VERY BEST news! Mrs Rose would NOT be leaving the hospital if there was a whisper of a hint of any problems!
I have been experiencing some computer problems in recent days, but just as I went to post this update, my monitor display has deteriorated. We have been needing to get our little friend into the shop, but have been putting it off. So.....I have consulted with Alamo-Girl and amom and I will continue to stay in contact daily with Rose and/or Mrs Rose. Because things are going well, I think that we can assume that they will continue in that direction, especially because of all the hard work being done on her behalf by her many friends. If there is a change in status which requires a change in the focus of our prayer work, I will contact amom and/or Alamo-Girl and they will post the information. As soon as I return online, I will post an update.
Thank all of you so very much for the tremendous support you have given to Rose through these threads. I was so glad to learn of sneakypete's progress yesterday. I feel sure that he would be grateful for a little extra prayers on his behalf as you may feel moved to do so.
Our Father,
We are gathered here by the miracle of technology which you have provided. We are truly hearts united in the Cause of Freedom. We cherish all of our fellow warriors and enjoy so very much the opportunities we have to be able to exchange ideas. We know we sometimes get hot with each other, but we are so grateful for the discourse that allows us to grow thereby. Rose, and sneakypete and all other Freepers of our band who have been experiencing health problems do have our prayers and loving support. Lift each and every child of your heart who posts or lurks here at JimRob's forum.
We ask that Rose continue to be surrounded by our prayers, good thoughts, and love. We ask for her to take her place among us here as soon as it is your good pleasure for her to do so.
We continue to ask for vigilance in the treatment of her wounds, that all prototocols are followed and 100% sterile. Please continue guiding the nurses and doctors in the administration of the proper amounts of pain medications which allow her to rest.
We continue to ask for a rapid and uneventful recovery.
This which we ask for Rose, we do ask for all of your children who are in similar need. We ask that all of our prayers be adjusted according to thy holy will.
Amen
