On a lighter note, today's NY POST has a huge pic of Lauren Bush with "Joe Millionaire"....they say he asked for her phone number....someone needs to have a serious talk with that girl....

YES, but... they will stall
filibuster stall
filibuster stall
filibuster stall
filibuster BTW they keep referencing Pres.Clinton, Boxer just did and all the other disGUSTS I have watched did. Who gives a rats ass bout clintoon? They are so desparate.
They will stall it till their fingernails bleed but Estrada will go through.
They would stop Eric Estrada from CHIPS from going through as well cause he rode a motorcycle and is conservative. LOL I am getting nuts now.
To: MurryMom
Hey, MurryMom. President Bush is speaking on CNN. I'm sure you don't want to miss it.
No need to thank me.
To: cyncooper
"She says in fact she has voted for conservative nominees before. But the question is will he put aside personal views"
He has answered that question but the dems don't like his answer. Someone should tell her that HER personal views are getting in the way of her responsibility.

My post (mischaracterized in yours) said that the WHITE HOUSE refuses to release the memoranda written by Estrada. Surely, even you must recognize that the WHITE HOUSE is able to release the memoranda without any ethics breach. Well if the WH does .. Hillary BEST hope no one on her staff or who has ever worked for her is never nominated because then HER PERSONAL Staff memos would have to be release under these terms
I can just bet we would fine out all kinds of juicy information
Sooooooooooo ... I'm guess the Dems REALLY don't want to go down this road

Ask her how many she got FOR Estrada.
To: DaughterOfAnIwoJimaVet
So she wants somebody that only cares about Hispanics? Trying to fill a "slot" on the courts? Quotas?

Just what is it that the Democracts want Mr. Estrada to confess to?
"Mr Estrada... are you now, or have you ever been, a member of the Boy Scouts?"
To: Mo1
Well if the WH does .. Hillary BEST hope no one on her staff or who has ever worked for her is never nominated because then HER PERSONAL Staff memos would have to be release under these termsPerhaps MurryMom is upset because the Bush White House just flat out refused to give them the notes, as opposed to Hillary who HID hers.

Right now his appointment is dead. The only question right now is how much of a political price can be extracted. It is feasible that the price becomes too high and they allow the vote.

I just logged off to call the Senators. Tried three times to get Sen. Feinstein and the line was busy. Finally got through to be put on hold, classical music and then on to a recorded message saying the lines are full.
Miguel's supporters flooding her line....and she isn't counting us!
Sen. Feinstein and Boxer are lying so blatantly, as did Daschle. And they complain "Tell the man to answer the questions!" says Boxer, though Miguel answered every single question put to him in a day's hearing and a long questionaire...SO...Sen. Boxer is blatantly lying. What does the Constitution have to say about Senators who absolutely can not be trusted?!

I have NO faith at all in the Republicans winning this fight. If they do, and Estrada is confirmed, I will be VERY surprised. The gimmies usually win this type of battle. I pray I am wrong!

Actually, the Justice Department has those briefings that Estrada wrote while working in the Solicitor General's office and it would be an ethics breach to release them. That's why the 7 living SG's wrote a letter to the RATS saying so. This is about revenge. One of the three SG's that Estrada worked for was the SG in the Bush 41 White House. A man by the name of Kenneth Starr. Does that name ring any bells??

RATs must be worried, they sent their stooge here with their lies.
Those working papers cannot be turned over no more than working papers of a lawyer working on a case are subject to be turned over in a trial. But then when did the Law ever matter to the RATs?
My question of the day -- Did Hillary get her moles inside the Justice Department to give her these papers that are not to be released according to seven solicitors of both parties? If we could only prove she has those papers, she would be history!

Good letter to Boxer...She's speaking now, this computer doesn't have sound, but somehow I doubt she got the message you sent her! It's always good when Boxer has to get out there and talk, nothing like a little "Californian Common Sense"

Concur..the Wellstone fiasco proved that...OTOH, I'm not sure if we here truly understand just how much the Dems are beholden to the special interest groups.....the NARAL dinner gave an insight into that..when Hatch talks about the special interest groups, he should replay a click of the NARAL head sayign that she expects EVERY Dem senator to filibuster any judge whom Bush appoints.....that would be a telling point..hey..we should email Hatch that..
Alternative theory..I agree that Hill's behind this..if she's decided NOT to run in 2004...is she leading the Dem party on a kamikaze mission.....

I really believe that if the Republicans can hang tough, once the American public realizes what's going on -- time of terror warnings, Hispanic nominee "kept in his place" by the Dems -- it will come back to bite the Democratic party.
One problem will be getting the word out to those who don't use alternative sources of news. The LA TIMES *buried* the Estrada story in a teeny couple of lines (literally) buried in the middle of the front section, headlined that the White House wouldn't turn over confidential docs. What I saw last night on C-Span was rather extraordinary, but does the TIMES think its readers (especially the Hispanic readers of So. CA) need to know about it? Noooooo.
