Right now his appointment is dead. The only question right now is how much of a political price can be extracted. It is feasible that the price becomes too high and they allow the vote.

Nonsense. He can be given a recess appointment. And when that appointment runs out, if the RATs still filibuster him, he can be given another recess appointment. And so on.

That's quite a shock. I hope you're wrong... It would greatly embolden the Dems to knock off anyone who doesn't pass their litmus test in the future.

Note the the Dems... Bush and the Republicans WON the election. Get over it. Using a technicality like a fillibuster is just wrong.

The Republicans HAVE to show some more backbone. Otherwise, we may as well have Trent Lott as the ML.
