If Estrada was a LIBERAL Hispanic and Clinton had nominated him, he would be sitting on the bench right now!
Clinton and the press would be extolling, once again
the goodness and diversity of the demo. party

(she's ?? -- what kind of name is Blanche) LOL! I had two aunts, both now long-deceased, named "Blanche". They were both nuttier than fruitcakes.

*off topic* Oh yeah -- the press LOVES the "Bush=Hitler" stuff -- C-Span couldn't show enough close-ups of signs that said that at the "peace" rally

First, disclosing the information is wrong and its confidential. Second, the rats will continue to ask for other documents that are priviledged and use that. Its a red herring.
Second, this is one of many methods to block any of Bush's candidates. A cave on this will just embolden them to continue the use of this tactic.

I don't see John Edwards up there talking. I imagine he's read the North Carolina census.

Is that true? No, but who isn't able to read the mind of a "former" Klansman? ;^)

Thanks so much for these threads.
I'm at work, so FR is my source to the outside world.

You mean the "Iraqi organized" peace rally?
To: Inspectorette
They were both nuttier than fruitcakes. Sounds like they would have made excellent Democratic Senators :)

Interesting that the R's are not asking questions. I wonder that they have planned next.

She said she got 8,000 phone calls against Estrada? I'd bet three vital organs that she's lying through her teeth. Why would she receive so many calls when those who are paying attention already know her opinion? Why would there be such enthusiasm? It doesn't pass the smell test. Stinking, lying Demoncrat!!!!!!

Glad to do it. I've been "away from the keyboard" when news happens........I know what it's like!

Nice try but it isn't going to work. Estrada had a hearing, they could ask questions then. They didn't. They can follow up with questions, written to him, but they didn't Correction is needed .. they did ask questions and the questions were answered and Kennedy and Durbin did follow up with written questions and they were answered .. 25 pages of question if I recall correctly
Now if the Dems still think he is a bad choice .. they have every right to vote no

Keep in mind it would be a COMPOST dream come true is the nomination is scuttled. I wouldn't worry quite yet, though I must admit your instincts are usually correct!

Have a seat MurryRATMom... The nice lady with the pill cart will be by shortly.
Should we tell MurryRATMom about President Bush latest nomination, made last night, even as the Senate was tied up with the Estrada nomination?
According to the Washington Post this morning:
In another development, Bush last night nominated a member of former Whitewater independent counsel Kenneth W. Starr's team to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit, based in St. Louis.
The nominee, Steven M. Colloton of Iowa, was a law clerk for Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist. Democrats had wanted Bush to nominate Missouri Supreme Court Judge Ronnie White, a witness for the opposition during Attorney General John D. Ashcroft's confirmation battle.
Dubya shoves it to the DIMs one more time.

8000 calls? Why don't I believe that?
Meanwhile I wonder how many pro-Estrada calls and emails Ms. Feinstein got yesterday? I sent an email and I know my dad did too...

I don't know what the R's have in store, but fasten your seat belts, it's gonna be a bumpy flight. So far the R's have outfoxed, outsmarted, and completely flummoxed the RATs. It's a beautiful thing!
To: Mo1
GONG! Back to Clara Harris again, where they are now explaining the penalty phase. (No news, just explanation.)
