". Do we know if any of them are lawyers? "

I think over half the members of both houses have a law degree. I don't know how many of them have ever practiced.

The Dems. do like to hear themselves talk. They're terrible listeners, though.

Sen. Dayton: "It would set a very dangerous predicent...if we were to start a war."

Was Dayton absent 9-11? His voice is shaking. Compare this to "there's nothing to fear, but fear itself."

Dems' habitual fearmongering is the absolute opposite of what the American people need today. We need uniters...like President Bush.

Now McCain's complaining about an appropration's bill he says he has never seen.

I used to go to Wellstone's State Fair booth and give the Senator jocular crap every year.

I told him two years ago ... "Senator, you could go into any bar in this State, this nation, and relate and endear yourself to even staunch enemies like me. Mark Dayton would go into the fetal position if he had to talk to a patron at Halek's or a tavern up in Bemidji."

Wellstone said ... "He's a puzzle to all." LOL

Like so many other Dem "promises," I'm sure the truth wasn't a significant factor at the time. It's an election after all, so anything goes, right? (end sarcasm)

Hatch has explained several times on the floor of the Senate how he, as head of the Judiciary committee, treated Clinton's nominees - letting them go for a vote even though they were liberal, because they were the president's choice - even taking a lot of flak from other Republicans for his stand - and now the other side is completely rewriting the traditions of the Senate, virtually trampling on his previous civility

He really is livid!

"Nobody is watching THIS but us."

This is the oh so shameful truth!!

It,the transfer of wealth from those who work, to ones who will not, and the LIE are the only reason a rat can ever get elected.

I used to live in Texas and now Oklahoma and I am with you. How can voters elect some of these people?

I don't know. My guess...Chafee and Snowe. You know the little devils on the left have been wooing them...but, it could be the current blowhard, John McCain...complaining about the size of the new appropriation's bill and talking about the surplus of 2001. Against tax cuts? Against President Bush.

How many members of Senate are permanently running for President?

This WILL be a winning issue for the Democrats. Their constituency will believe that there must be something in Miguel's closet. Otherwise, the Democrat's would not be going to the mat on this one. They are winning points for "standing on principle" by not approving the nomination of this "right wing extremist."

This is not going to be good for us.

I am beginning to think Pres Bush did just that -- put forth Estrada first because he knew Pickering and Owens were going to draw their ire but why not do a Hispanic first.

From what I heard today on Rush and from others, Hispanics are up in arms at the DemocRATs and some have reregistered.

McCain, you idiot Gore lost and took his lockbox with him.

McCain did something when starting his speech, rubbed his neck twice. Gave the appearance as though he was pasting on his liberal face. It looked really funny.

Is that really true? I thought it was a joke!

Of course, I won't read the Cities newspapers so things might get by me occasionally ;-)

He said "hell"!

Byron York's latest Estrada Update from NROL:

Senator Orin Hatch, chairman of the Senate judiciary committee said today that Republicans would keep talking “until hell freezes over” as long as Democrats keep up their filibuster of judicial nominee Miguel Estrada. Hatch told reporters today that it is likely the Senate will go into recess next week. Because two Republican senators cannot be there for personal reasons, Republicans will not have a majority to keep the Senate in session. But, he said, when the Senate returns from the Presidents’ Day recess, he expects lawmakers to return immediately to debating Estrada Posted at 01:48 PM
