Ms. Landrieu now disavows her own ad and claims she never supported Mr. Estrada. Rather, she blames her Hispanic supporters, who, she says, "misinterpreted" her position, which was really one of "neutrality." But the final line of the ad reads: "An announcement paid for by friends of Mary Landrieu." Ms. Landrieu doesn't come up for re-election until 2008, by which time she no doubt hopes her act of political cynicism will have been forgotten

this is heinous.

Just sit back and enjoy it.

The rats are in a death spiral.

They have made themselves totally irrelevant by their "fiddling" while the nation confronts the current crises.

She is a demorat. Therefore, anything said can be retracted without fear of recriminations. In other words---

Dems lie without hesitation. ALWAYS. I would never trust a word from any dem leader's face. Always expect the opposite. They have no shame, no morals, no plans.

Trash, all of them.

About a month ago or so I read that privately some Dems concede they really want to be the first ones to appoint a Hispanic to a high court. Of course, it would have to be a liberal Hispanic, but regardless, some Dems were quoted as saying this. I've been unable to find the article/quotes through a search and wondered if anyone had it saved in their bookmarks? Help appreciated. Peach

With a little bit of luck, maybe those Hondurans will be thinking about this when they pull those levers in the 2004 presidential election.

The Honduran-born Mr. Estrada . . . is a superhero in the Honduran-American community. Think JFK in 1960.

Interesting. I had no idea JFK was a hero in the Honduran community.
