WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Americans have apparently heeded the U.S. government's advice to prepare for terror attacks, emptying hardware store shelves of duct tape.
On Tuesday, less than 24 hours after U.S. Fire Administrator David Paulison described a list of useful items, stores in the greater Washington, D.C. area reported a surge in sales of plastic sheeting, duct tape, and other emergency items.

- almost right because she didn't include this President among those to be held responsible for not acting. Give her a break. She's probably still operating on some updated version of her campaign slogan:
You must support Bush no matter what he does.

I wonder if they would be willing to trade my roll of duct tape and plastic sheeting for a few nights in their fortified bunker? You wouldn't want to. Can you imagine the smell after a few days of a bunch of Congressmen, with their pages of course, cooped up in a bunker. Yuck, I'll take the plastic sheeting and duct tape thank you very much.

Why, oh why, when I see these photos you've posted, do I have visions of the old 1940 black and white movies of the French army surrendering along the old Maginot Line? Personally speaking, my old DI said that duct tape was bullet proof. We didn't believe him, but it inspired you in the mud and cold.
