SCRANTON, Pa. (AP) -- A suspicious package found at the federal courthouse Saturday turned out to contain pornographic material and a note to Attorney General John Ashcroft, police said.
The briefcase-size box was examined by the bomb squad, which decided to destroy it.
The note suggested the package was dangerous, Sgt. Dave Benway said, adding that he expected charges to be filed.
Last year, two partially nude statutes in the Great Hall of the Department of Justice were covered up. A Justice Department spokesman said it was done for aesthetic reasons, but there were reports that Ashcroft didn't like being photographed in front of them.

And ... I don't blame him. The reason he didn't like it was because the media knew just how to position their cameras so that the whole time Ashcroft was talking, there was a bare breast also in the picture.
It didn't take Ashcroft long to figure out what the media was up to and to stop their foolishness.
I think modesty should rule - and I believe that is Mr. Ashcroft's position also.

It's been report that Dan Rather, Tommy Dashcle and Bill Clinton received similar packages. Dan reported it, Tommy invested it and Bill tried it.

I would not have covered up the art, but moved to another location. But perhaps he did not have a choice.

The briefcase-size box was examined by the bomb squad, which decided to destroy it. Yup. I can just imagine how this discussion must have gone down at the bomb squad...
"What is it?" "A couple of nudie magzines, that's all."
"Any explosives?
"Nope."
"Ah, nuts!"
"I know..."
"Say... Did you tell anyone else?"
"No."
"Heh, heh, heh... What have you got in the bag?"
"(Laughing) I've got some det cord!"
"Looks like a dangerous device to me! What say we blow it up to make sure!?!"
YEAH!!! Um... I mean, that sounds prudent."

That's AP for you. Always digging up the truth.

Why? Du is nothing. Why give them attention?I was crusing through stations on the TV tonight when I came across FSTV. It had a title called "Fed Up."
Curious as to what they may be whining about this time, I clicked on it.
There was a picture of Bush shooting at bunnies. After the bunnies, he started shooting at flowers. LOL.
My kids said : "Mom. What show is this?"
I told them it was liberal TV. They said "Liberals have their own TV for kids?"
It cracked me up. I told them it wasn't for liberal kids, but for liberal grown ups.
You should have seen their faces. They said grown up liberals must watch Barney, too, and maybe Tella Tubbies would help make them smarter.
As they say - "Out of the mouths of babes." LOL

No he didn't - the media would move into the foyer while they were waiting for him to come out to be interviewed - positioning their microphones so it would force him to be in the proper position for their cameras. Disgusting people.

"Disgusting people." So true.

Let's not forget the real story behind the covering of the statues. The original covering began long before Ashcroft under Janet Reno. All Ashcroft did was decide to buy the curtains for less than Reno was leasing them for every month or whenever. The media (and DemoncRATs) made the whole thing up about Ashcroft deciding to cover up the statues (and now you know the rest of the story).

Sounds like you're teaching yours right. It's amazing how far common sense goes. My one kids wants to go to Mexico for spring break. I told her, now's not the time to travel out of the country to touristy spots. Right away, she said, is that because terrorists could hit hot American places. especially now with a war so close by? Teach them values, morals, and responsibilty when they're young, they'll still give you a hard time in they're teens, but when they hit their early 20's, all that work will be rewarded.
