TUNKHANNOCK, Pa. -- Two Marines on unexcused leave from Camp Lejeune, N.C., were in a Pennsylvania jail Saturday night, accused of threatening to use a bomb at Camp Lejeune.

According to Pennsylvania State police, the Marines and a third person downloaded bomb-making information from the Internet and threatened to use the explosives at the base.

Hell, after a few months in Camp Lejeune's brig -- Leavenworth will look and feel like the Hilton...

I've seen the inside of the LeJeune brig myself. (Not as a guest!!) You're right, they'll be happy to head to Leavenworth.

Only 20 years? At Portsmouth? :-) They could be useful to teams 2. 4. 6 & 8 as moving targets.

"Except that if these guys were UA, they'd get nabbed at the main gate when they tried to come aboard Lejeune. "

I seriously doubt it. As long as they have a red noncomm sticker on the windshield of their vehicle they would pass by with ease. Especially during certain hours [rush hour].

At least that is my experience.

Yeh, I was asking myself the same thing. UA (Unauthorized Absence) was what it was called when I was in. So now its calle UL (Unexcused Leave)?

I marched in a color guard in a Veterans Day Parade in Greenville, SC in 1980. I'll never a group of bikers standing up and cheering us as we went by.

It will be interesting to see what the ideological motivation is behind these morons' plot.

My best bet is "Budweiser". This sounds like one of those drunken "I can out badass you!" things that young idiots get involved in.

Not that I personally know anything about how young drunken, macho idiots act, that is. Or even old drunken macho idiots. I read a lot,and I've listened to some of Travis McGee's sea stories. Yeah, that's the ticket! That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!

This one was good to hear about, AFTER it was all solved! My nephew is at LeJeune right now... I can't imagine us getting news that he was hurt by fellow Marines while still on U.S. soil :-(

Hey, "fellow Marines"... maybe that's what they should do, just release these scumsuckers into a group of Marines that would have been in the area they planned to attack :-)

Perfect justice...

Looks like they got their wish. Hopefully they'll spend a LONG time in a cell wishing to be back in the Marines.

It doesn't work that way. Chances are they will be Marine Privates on reduced pay for at least the next 10 years, and maybe even longer. These idiots have embarrassed the USMC,and it is a well-known fact that the USMC has ABSOLUTELY no sense of humor about that. They won't be doing the daily suffering the idiots who sabatouged the parachutes will suffer, but you can bet your butt somebody is going to be in their faces every day.

Having said all that and freely admitting I have never been a Marine or desired to be a Marine,I'd like a 6 month or so shot at guarding the punks who cut the parachute riser lines, myself. I honestly believe I could make them pray for the chance to jump those chutes. I know those guys are off-topic,but everytime I think of them,I start seeing little dots float around in front of my eyes.

Do the Marines send their criminals to Leavenworth now? What happened to Portsmouth Naval Prison?

I'd be interested in learning more about this 27 yr. old woman who was their accomplice. Did they know her from before? Did they hook up with her after leaving LeJeune,

27 years old and hanging around with a couple of 21 and 22 year old Marines,I'd be willing to bet she has more tatoos than she does teeth. They probably met her at a bar in Jacksonville.
