BREAKING NEWS: U.S. INTERCEPTS IRAQI TRANSMISSION TO ACTIVATE CHEMICAL WEAPONS IMMEDIATELY

That is correct. Saddam has sent orders to Republican Guard in the field to activate weapons that Iraq claim 'do not exist.'

Get a grip junior. After Iraq, we're gonna have to replenish big-time to handle NK.

Who knows? Maybe they'll be in Seoul while we're in Iraq.

ME: I'd like to hear the intercepted conversation in which saddam says that, and have it verified by an independent source - if there is such a source...

You: I was going to tell you that what you want is above your paygrade… but then, I don't wish to plagarize Joe Biden.

However, I will say I believe President Bush and his team… THE GAME IS OVER!

My response was:

as you say! by the way are you going to go to bahgdad? - meaning of course that OK - the game is over start bombing! and asking you if you were going to bahgdad?

nothing arrogant about those statements... ments I made...

Has Bush just told Saddam that his most secure means of communication is compromised?

Looks like that's what he said? Time for us to figure out exactly what the mode is/was....

Why? Are you French?

War Summary

The Iraqi armed forces had extensive experience of warfare. They had just brought an eight year war with Iran to a successful conclusion. The Coalition troops, on the other hand, were largely inexperienced. Britain had found the Falklands War with marines and paratroopers; this war was fought with tanks and mechanized infantry instead. The Syrians had fought within the last decade in Lebanon, but the 9th Division had not been involved. The Egyptians had last fought a war in 1973, shortly after the US had wound down its involvement in Vietnam. Of the gulf states, only Omani Army had anything approaching extensive combat experience.

One reason that the Iraqis' experience did them little good was that it was the wrong kind of experience. They had plenty of experience in fighting a positional war of wearing down Iran forces. Instead of helping, this was a positive disadvantage when fighting a mobile campaign; they would have been better off starting fresh without a lot of bad habits.

Of Iraq's 545,000 troops in the Kuwait Theater of Operations, about 100,000 are believed to have lost their lives. Of IRaq's 44 army divisions, 42 were found to be combat ineffective. By the end of the war, estimated losses of equipment were as followed:

Total Equipment
Iraqi Coalition
Lost On hand Lost On hand
Tanks 4,000 4,230 4 3,360
Artillery 2,140 3,110 1 3,633
Armored Personal Carriers 1,856 2,870 9 4,050
Helicopters 7 160 17 1,959
Aircraft 240 800 44 2,600

Could we be near to seeing the fulfillment of Jeremiah chapter 51? This chapter foretells the total and final destruction of Babylon.

I'm certainly not a prophet, and God has not spoken to me, but I read the passage and wonder.

No, I mean Truman who made the decision to use the atom bomb to preserve the lives of our military - you know the decision he is still criticized for. And the Truman who authorized the Berlin Airlift instead of sacrificing the citizens of Berlin to the Soviets and the Truman who fired the popular Douglas MacArthur who was likely right militarily and politically concerning Red China but who could not be allowed to blow off the US civilian authority.

It's easy to say now that after years of horrendous war, Truman was supposed to tell the wives and mothers of America their loved ones were going to have to turn around and fight the Russians over Eastern Europe. You know the Russians who at that time the wives and mothers were still seeing as our allies? That's the trouble with a democracy. The wishes of the people have to be considered.
