No, I mean Truman who made the decision to use the atom bomb to preserve the lives of
our military - you know the decision he is still criticized for. And the Truman who authorized the Berlin Airlift instead of sacrificing the citizens of Berlin to the Soviets and the Truman who fired the popular Douglas MacArthur who was likely right militarily and politically concerning Red China but who could not be allowed to blow off the US civilian authority.
It's easy to say now that after years of horrendous war, Truman was supposed to tell the wives and mothers of America their loved ones were going to have to turn around and fight the Russians over Eastern Europe. You know the Russians who at that time the wives and mothers were still seeing as our allies? That's the trouble with a democracy. The wishes of the people have to be considered.
I certainly agree with Truman's use of the A-bomb.
