Did anyone happen to hear the call from the guy whose girl was missing..I think it was on phil donahue last night?? (I know iicck..at least he kept his mouth closed most of the time) He emphasized how hysterical he was...and how "calm" SP is. The guy was so upset he ended his call right after his comment..

I just don't understand. Normally family members are unable to cope for quite a while..

So SP already checked out of the hotel though the conference is for next week? Is that what is being stated in the article?

He checked in days ahead of time, but now is no longer there?

Hmmm.

I'm MSNBC free. But it's painfully obvious that this jerkwater of a husband was emotionally detached from his immediate family and enabled by his extended family.

That would really be something if NASA people would find her, as I can't put it past him to be happy about the space shuttle disaster, if he thought it took the focus off of him.

"Who the hell would want to live in a house where your wife was kidnapped from"-SP on phone from Mexico.

Um, a person who had hopes that his wife and baby are coming back HOME would want to continue living in THAT house.

Also, I thought Scott wanted people to believe that Laci was taken while walking the dog (hence the leash on the dog).....whoever said she was kidnapped from the house, Scott?

And who's taking care of McKenzie?

I still want to know who's taking care of Laci's dog!

Nobody can stop him from going down there, but if I were Laci's family, I'd hire a private detective to follow Scott down there so nobody loses track of his whereabouts.

I hope they'll do that. Maybe the anonymous donor of the major portion of the reward fund will consider using part of it for a PI.

from yesterday's thread:

I found myself with Laci and Connor on my mind last nite too. After I logged off I was thinking about the idea a few people were kicking around yesterday. Talking about some kind of special tribute to Connor on 2-10, maybe in the form of contributions to charity in his name,etc..Then I was remebering a short conversation I was having with spectre and The St. Jude hospital came up. I think unless the Rocha family sets up something different, I will make a contribution to St. Judes. Can't think of a better one than one that helps so many children!

Jackie, St. Jude is a great idea. I contribute to them anyway, to the hospital in Memphis.

Much better than some other charities that siphon off so much of the money for their "administrative costs"....I'm pretty sure St. Jude has low overhead costs, at least I've not heard otherwise yet.

I don't think the scheduling of the conference mattered. My wife had the audacity to schedule one of her due dates right smack in the middle of the annual Guy's Poker Weekend at the Lake!

I left her a phone number. The phone number to the local cab company. The due date came and went. She was three weeks late!

Try to pull that stuff on me... why, I oughtta...

As I mentioned last night on the other thread, I think I'm dreaming about this case.

I woke up in the middle of the night with this thought:

So it's one of 2 things with this trip to Mexico. Either SP planned it months ago, a conference just days before his son was due to be born on Feb. 10.

Or a couple of weeks ago (that would be just 2 or so weeks after his family disappeared) he decided it might be nice to take a little trip Old Mexico way.

And is this the reason he changed the date of the baby's birth in the DS interview? So he didn't appear to be such a cad? Remember he was the one who said the baby was now due on Feb 16.

Maybe he thought--what a planner he is--that it wouldn't look so bad to head off for this conference in sunny Mexico if he changed the date of potential birth to the 16th!

White pick up over the cliff at Devil's Slide. A staged event is possible according to CHP. No body found yet, the Coast Guard is searching the Pacific Ocean. Witnesses saw person leaving on foot. This is too good. Reporter may have said Nevada tags on truck but it is mangled. It may be nothing but thought I would mention it. Reported by KTVU.

Once again his plan backfires. Now everyone thinks he IS on the run.

When you put it like that, I can't help but burst out laughing!!!

He's waaaaaaaay down there. Wonder which direction he went after checking out.

Very easy to get lost in places like that. Let's see, does Brazil extradite? Not sure. But we know Mexico doesn't so he's safe there. Oh, he's probably just headed over to Acapulco for a few days R&R. He deserves it. He's been through so much...

When the NASA searcher find her:

Maybe Scott's statement would be--"See? Told you I was innocent! She was on the space shuttle the whole time!"

Scott P's plan to change the due date blew up in smoke when the step father set the date straight at the news conference. Good for him!
