John - Awesome article dude - she's one of my favorite writers and now I know where you get your style - or did she get her style from you?

You have very similar styles and are both a joy to read - I find my self saying -"Yeah!" - "That's Right" and Hmmmm - I never thought of that, but it's true" while I read. And every once in a while a real clever zinger will make me laugh out loud.

Thanks again -

ROFL! THAT IS SO GOOD!

i wrote this two days ago and got slammed by freepers for not mourning the astronauts enough,,,,,here is an example with a post just after mine,,,,,,,To: kidkosmic1

A few days before the Columbia was lost there were four crew killed in a Blackhawk helicopter crash in Afghanistan,, the story got a thirty second mention on the news,, no flag at half staff, no interviews of the relatives , no lookback of their life,, no memorial, no memorial services for television, we don't even know their names. These brave heroes who were protecting our freedoms and our very lives were forgotten in less than a minute. With the 24/7 coverage that the shuttle story will cover(and they are already driving this story into the ground), it's too bad our soldiers and their lives couldn't have been be more appreciated...

Please, cut it out. We love and miss our service men. And I prayed for them and their families. But at this time, let us enjoy in peace and have a moment of tranquility as we grieve for these astronauts and their families.

Give us a moment to rest on the Lord.

Scott, an incredible site. Thank you for your exceptional work. May our Lord Jesus Christ bless you always.

Another masterpiece from the brilliant and beautiful Ann Coulter!

(And of course, the usual jealous fat cows have to show up on the thread to bleat their irrelevant and untrue "she should gain weight" and "get some sun", etc. slaps at Ann.)

Did any of you watch the Iraqi news conference today from Baghdad after Powell's presentation to the security council?I wish I could remember the exact quote, but the Iraqi general made a reference to Scott Ritter--something about a theory about how Iraq is innocent, but false evidence is set up? No media commented about his assertions. He basically said Ritter says we're innocent,so you must believe it.

At least the Times could count on stability and permanence from John Hartpence Kerry.

Let me tell you something, John Huang2..........there's nothing admirable nor 'clever' about this statement.

It's disgusting. Even if it is directed at a Democrat.

"Hartpence" Kerry. Not some WASP like Ann, but the 'stupid' guy didn't realize he was Jewish, right?

Nice move gang. Tell Arafat I said hello.

He basically said Ritter says we're innocent,so you must believe it.

Actually, what he said was a bit cleverer than that. He said Ritter authored the "concealment theory" -- the idea that Iraq was scurrying around hiding things before the inspectors arrived -- back when he was with UNSCOM, and now he denies the very same thing. That's good lawyering, because, if your comeback is that Ritter's a dirtbag, then you aren't well-positioned to accept the original claim, either -- or, at least, you have to attack the smuggled-in premise that Ritter was the inventor of "concealment," which most people would be too dumb to do.

you didn't wait the standard 72 hours!!

If you had waited for the initial shock to wear off, you wouldn't have gotten near the backlash.

You can be up front and state your opinion, but you must wait for the emotional ones to calm down, if you don't wanna get kicked in the head. 72 hours will normally do it.

Those that cannot think rationally during a crisis must be dealt with in a diplomatic manner, because they are normally a majority, and will kill you, if given the opportunity.

Thanks Tammsey:
When it comes to exposing liberal weasels, Ann Coulter is one of my favorite writers. Don't forget the continuing saga: Was Scott Ritter compromised by Amn Al-Khass!

Okay, but she's leaving out (and missing) one of the most overused phrases of the Columbia "tragedy" (first: I ask all of you, bluntly, HOW GREAT A TRAGEDY REALLY WAS IT?) media feeding-frenzy -- "Healer-in-Chief". Sometimes the President must be "Healer-in-Chief", spouted the news outlets. Shut UP, shut UP, shut UP. This kind of blather from our own media makes honest Americans sound like a bunch of schoolchildren ready to pee our pants at any moment.

No one I know has been to therapy over the Shuttle explosion. No one has needed "time to heal". No one even really TALKS about it. What we're talking about is: "Hey, we're *bleep*ing strapped for cash," and kibitzing about the war. America is not so weak that she needs her own personal psychotherapist. The media would have you believe otherwise; the media would have you believe America is in enrolled in several twelve-step programs and needs "psychic healing" on a Woody Allen angst level.

BS! Grrr. Sorry. Just that this one has REALLY ticked me off. It demeans the country. We take a licking and we keep on ticking. As Churchill said, if you find yourself in Hell...*keep going*. The fact that Bush spoke at the memorial service is expected; the speech was touching. However, I think the nation could have gotten along just fine without it (except for all the libs who would be crying in the corner and asking where Bush was).

Grr. /rant off

She's lovely, but I'm afraid Ann dropped off my idol list when she ran that piece that...I'm not even going to talk about...which is understandable, given Barbara's death and her closeness, but still, you're in the spotlight there, y'know? Plus there was one other instance when I heard her use the phrase, "You're invading my personal space!" during some interview, which...for some strange reason really made me not like her so much as I had (I think it was the PC quality of the remark coming from someone I don't associated with PC *at all*).

All that aside, Coulter has indeed done some wonderful writing and I'll read the book...but I'll pick it up at the library. :-)
