A Few of FR's Finest.....
......Every Day

FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues; salute and support our military and our leaders;  tell a few jokes;  learn a new word;  write poetry;  pray for those in need;  and congratulate those who are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which we can express ourselves.

Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   I can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.

Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!

And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

Some ancient history involved here, dansy, harking back to 1998 and since.

The phirst time I saw it, it was the trademark of Phil V. - aka Pharmer Phil - and Billie and I and others morphed many words beginning with "F" into "PH" ones.

One phinished a meal - phorwarded things - back when we heard (in error) Socks C. had died on the pharm while being nursed back to health (with the help of M. Thatcher, a cat owned and lent by Lucianne Goldberg - Trixie) because he was run over on I-95 after escaping from the White House. WHEW!!
The Whitewater Days surely were phun!

I had a phlorist deliver phlowers to Phil and Da Missus - phlox and phorget-me-knots, you see, before he jumped up and continued his 7th life.
Billie and I were Backup Safe Houses, should the need arise to snatch Socks C, (Socks C.underbed@whitehouse.gov) for 'knowing too much.' He fed Phil V. all the 'scoop' on Bill & Hill, mind you.

When Billie and I held sway on the One & Only Real Freeper Island back then, one of our central Islanders was CHIEF negotiator, and he loved to fish.
Yes - he went phishing a lot, and in April 2001 when ofMagog started our Infamous Sea Sagas, I renamed his cat-at-the-time from 'Bait' to Phishbait.' It stuck.
(He and CHIEF are now phishing together from The Rainbow Bridge.)

Several of us from all those Old Thymes slip use in now and then - and smile, remembering - - -

Now, Missy, as to your "Where have I phailed yew?" question, you were supposed to bail me out after Billie hit the Abuse Button for my siding with poor Thin Man!

Got my gun today!!!! It's a Beretta tomcat (32 caliber). I like all the safety features (I admit to being a little (okay alot) afraid of guns...)plus it fits well in my hand. Mr. D has an older model (like 16 years) Beretta 380 which is way beyond what I can control. Scared the living "Cr..p" out of me when I fired it (which was only once!) Next step...gun safety course and lessons! Thanks for your encouragement to take this step!

We who were privileged to attend the wild and woolly school Phil V. had, were blessed with a new outlook on life!

Folks, back in those halcyon times, Phil V. had multiple personalities.
He was also Socks C. - and my very favorite, Altered Ego.
You would have loved when he would get on a serious thread and flame 'himself,' going at him with fury!

There were only about 5,000 posters at the time, so poor JimRob sometimes looked the other way, cringing, no doubt. As the Forum grew, multiple personalietes were not allowed.

Billie was one of my Fhirst Phriends, and our escapades were many..:))

Keep me updated on your progress. I am truly, truly excited for you! We just went to the range on Sunday. Brought my Taurus which I haven't shot in a few weeks and was rusty with it. That'll teach me to always favor my Beretta!!!
