Strange that Ritter would plan to be in the region when he knows war is imminent.

Maybe he has orders from Saddam to be within arm's reach to be used as a propaganda tool or ELSE. Obviously, Ritter will be able to say things from there that he would not say while on U.S. soil.

Conducting Foreign Relations Without Authority: The Logan Act

Abstract: The Logan Act was intended to prohibit United States citizens without authority from interfering in relations between the United States and foreign governments. There appear to have been no prosecutions under the Act in its almost 200 year history. However, there have been a number of judicial references to the Act, and it is not uncommon for it to be used as a political weapon. Although attempts have been made to repeal the Act, it remains law and at least a potential sanction to be used against anyone who without authority interferes in the foreign relations of the United States.

Not to mention the fact that the longer the games continue, the corrupt practice of REFUSING to hold Saddam accountable for his refusal to cooperate, these jerks endanger our MILITARY as weather conditions have a GREAT DEAL TO DO with the ability of our troops to function optimally in Iraq.

Thanks. I learned a lot from a historian of Saxony, who studied "small state diplomacy" in the age of Napoleon. Just as the little birds sit harmlessly in the mouths of crocodiles, "neutral" nations do facilitate a lot of things. We don't want many of them, but a Switzerland always comes in handy when nations look for a way out of a mess and can no longer communicate directly.

Powell plays this role. As the designated "Switzerland," when he comes out for war, at least SOME libs must stand up and take notice.

Or are you suggesting that possibly there are actual Iraqi trolls who lurk at "that site" and others in order to be able to immediately spin...? High-tech propaganda wars?
