So Kofi doesn't want to become a human shield or a blood smear in Baghdad?I've always heard it said that "Kofi stains" are hard to remove.

Ms. Bennis the leftist is now being put on the spot by Shep. Go Shep!!

You are on a ROLL today. Thanks! I feed off absurdity, which we've seen in spades since Mr. Powell stopped talking.

I had to listen to the other countries' response to Powell in the car, so missed portions. I did notice, however, that most of the speakers expressed sympathies to the United States regarding Columbia. I never heard them say anthing to the Isrealis (well, other than their usual clap-trap about Isreal occupying Palestinian, Syrian, Lebanese territory). Did I miss that?
I'm getting so tired of the US being the only country that will stand with Isreal. Not that we shouldn't stand with them, but that we are the only ones. Oh well, I guess if the neighborhood bullies wanna tangle with our smaller-but-powerful cousins, it does behoove us to stick up for them!

"Notice they open their conversations with "Allah's blessing" etc. etc." I thought the Iraqi's weren't necessarily Muslim, and that Hussein was basically agnostic.....this is INTERESTING.

Perhaps, but I'm not quite ready to sign off on that yet. I do lean that direction though.

I love Shep..he asked Bennis, "You listened to Colin Powell today, right?"
You had to hear it ..funny as hell.

What does "he [Scott Ritter] is still happily around" mean?
Hmm. Could this be an embedded threat to Scotty boy? Meaning that he is still around because Saddam, thus far, has chosen not to do him in? Meaning Scotty is lucky to be alive? Meaning Saddam has the goods on Ritter, just as speculated?
Really, why would MOAC (mother of all combovers) say Ritter "is still happily around"?

I did think Kofi looked rather uncomfortable. That should't be too surprising for a pretender of his magnitude.
To: RummyChick
He did good. Backed her into a corner on a couple issues. Asked her if she thought Powell was lying. Her response was a stammering non-answer.

> "Let's hope that the year spent trying to convince everyone won't prove to be a serious mistake."
I don't think it's been a year of trying to convince everyone. I think it's been a year and a half of preparations. If the public had all of this info right after 9/11, the pressure to go to war unprepared would have been great. When it became known that we weren't ready, the effort would have struggled and fizzled in inactivity. President Bush has been masterful in controlling the debate and agenda and choosing his targets. First, Al Qaeda, now Iraq. The next stop will be linked when we're ready to press the offensive.
