Geeez. Look at the size of this thread! Powell hasn't even started yet!
Crap. I have a 56k dial up.

C-SPAN1 will have the speech live followed by reaction from Joseph Biden (D-DE) and a briefing from Ari Flescher ... fyi.

Ask that MP.
To: RoseofTexas
Sen. Joseph Biden of Delaware, ranking Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said the evidence was convincing but it was unclear whether Powell's presentation would persuade doubting nations.
"The proof of the pudding is in the eating," he told reporters after meeting Bush. "We'll see how the rest of the world responds. If I had this evidence before a jury that was an unbiased jury, then I could get a conviction. But we're talking about a different stage. He (Powell) has a tougher jury."

Secretary Powell is a fine man, an excellent public servant, and serves the President. I support his DIPLOMATIC position, which is only one arm of the tools we have at our disposal. I don't know why people think that failing to provide the President with a full range of opinion and options would be a good thing. In my job, I often take a "devil's advocate" position to insure that every possible contingency and course of action is considered.
I'm sure you noticed that while all opinions are offered during the decision-making process, after the final call is made, all members of this administration support the President unconditionally. I find this comforting, not frightening.

Thirteen Days was a good movie, except for the annoyance of Kevin Costner trying to do a New England accent.

Did anybody see Brit Hume's show last night, when he had the guy on talking about WHY France won't join the coalition?

I'd be more afraid if there WASN'T a break in opinion here and there.

Chris Matthews has all ways been a disgraceful frontline spear carrier for the dark side.
He has fooled a lot of people in to believing that he is a moderate or semi conservative rat.
He is the semi male counterpart of Maureen Dowd, a front line spear carrier of hate. He sent out emails last year advising the Rats to push the Enron thing to embarrass and harm President Bush.
He hates President Bush, republicans and conservatives 24/7. Also, his program is very near being cancelled due to low viewer numbers.
