Sen. Joseph Biden of Delaware, ranking Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said the evidence was convincing but it was unclear whether Powell's presentation would persuade doubting nations.

"The proof of the pudding is in the eating," he told reporters after meeting Bush. "We'll see how the rest of the world responds. If I had this evidence before a jury that was an unbiased jury, then I could get a conviction. But we're talking about a different stage. He (Powell) has a tougher jury."

Cong. Weldon (PA?) was on the Chrissy Matthews show yesterday and said the House was briefed last week by Powell and Tenent (CIA) and the evidence (in his opinion) was compelling. He also said the House was dead silent following the presentation and that Powell's UN speech will have even more detail than what was presented to the entire House.
