-The photo was revealed on Channel 1 of Israel. This pic was taken during an interview the Channel had with the Israeli astronaut.

I am not on the left at all. I am not blaming Bush. I am not attacking Bush or America, as some of you claim that is who I am. I am showing what is in the Israeli media right now. They are not going against America or Bush either. They just are looking at the fact of the mishap just as the US media is doing. If you say we are against Bush or something, then you are too, discussing the flaws of the shuttle, cause I can say you are blamming NASA for designing such flaws, etc.

An attack from the left. This story here is new to me but not unexpected. All I new about was the attack from the left, but I do know this nations and 2 other nations will want answers too.

Like I said I brought the message and was attacked for it. So instead of being ready it will be like when CFR hit and it was too late. The attack is here already. The NASA spokesperson tonight did a real worthless job of explaining things and I will tell you what if they find that NASA let this happen when they new there was a chance for a disaster and these people died for no reason this time unlike the Enron smear will be a disaster for NASA and President Bush.

That is my opinion. For what its worth!

That's not it at all Howlin. But there will be some people in BOTH countries that because it's like breathing to them, will try to pin this specifically on GW and NASA. They'll say (falsely) that the gov't knew tht the mision was doomed from the start. When the fact is no one knows for sure yet what happened.

Given the breadth of opinion in our own media (even the mainstream media) I guess an "attack" is possible..

Even if that is wrong, it was not a "no win situation", they don't exist until its over...

It IS wrong.

Frankly, Axe, if the falling ice or insulation damaged the tiles on takeoff, it was over at that moment 80-89 seconds into the flight, and the "No Win Situation" had already been initiated. The astronauts were already dead; they just wouldn't complete the process until 16 days later.

The astronauts fate, like the fate of 1500 people who died on the Titanic, was sealed at the moment the ice struck their ships. NOTHING was in position or near enough to save them.

As far as I know, we have ONE shuttle launch pad (my recollection was they were going to build one at Vandenburg for polar orbits but Congress cancelled the funding) and that ONE had just been used. The MINIMUM time to prepare another shuttle from the fleet for launch, move it to the pad, provision it, fuel it, etc. is over 1 month. Columbia had at most 22 days of air. Your rescue/resupply shuttle would have arrived to find seven asphyxiated dead astronauts.

I don't know anything about DU but given the incoherence of your post, maybe that's where you should stay.

I haven't seen many "conspiracy theories" put forth about the disaster yet, but a lot of people, including me, are struggling with some questions and throwing out ideas at this early stage. I admit, I don't know much more about this stuff than most people, but my point was that something could have been done if the craft was not fit to land. I don't know what, but there had to be something. So I, at least, am willing to put out ideas.

If you don't have any ideas, then go back to DU or back to your job with the city, or whatever. I don't care.

Yonif says it's a credible newspaper, but I just can't believe NASA would do this intentionally.

I believe such damage might be overlooked, but I can't buy into this "conspiracy" thing here.

Huh? Assuming this picture is what it claims to be (which it isn't), the astronauts took the pictures...how could NASA not tell them something they already knew??? (By the way, critial heat tiles are on the BOTTOM of the shuttle, which is not viewable through windows.)
