Once was enough for jiggygirl; the thrown banana, the stealing of the "FRY MUMUA" sign, the unprovoked confrontation by that probably-professional loudmouth, and cursing-as-debate by the anti-Americans put her off. Fair enough. Indeed...Mrs Drango has declined to participate also. Each of us needs to find our own comfort zone and be responsible for our own safety. We have kids, elderly and handicapped people out there BUT it's not for everyone!
With that said, I've made email contact with the SF Police department who will, by happensatance, have our 6. (Military jargon for watching our back)

Your post reminds me of something I should share with all of you. I've been quietly getting to word out to SFPD that we will be there, our intentions and our resolve NOT to have our First Amendment Rights tampered with by the opposition camp. I spoke with the Chief's Office again this morning and the Lt provided the appropriate contacts for us to use. We will fax our information to Captain Cashman this afternoon. We will personally check in with the Incident Command Post on Sunday.
If you plan to have a cellphone with you and are willing to help with our communications with SFPD command, PLEASE, Freepmail your real name and cellphone number a.s.a.p. Chris and I both have law enforcement backgrounds and I can tell you that everyone I have spoken to with SFPD appreciate your being there.
Jiggyboy, I mentioned the issues you raised in your post to the Northern Command people. I will remind them of it in my faxed briefing as well. The more names and contact numbers we can provide, the better. The goal is simple... take the high ground, hold it and be safe in the process. We will do everything we can to insure that our civil rights are protected Under Color of Authority... a duty every police officer in American swears to when he or she takes their oath.
If anyone wants to reach me by phone today, call (916) 448-1636.

Sorry, forgot to ping you on our latest post. We're down to the wire and we need your help.

A rally poster suggestion
This could be printed with an ink jet printer, and mounted on cardboard--or better, 1/4 inch plywood. My Canon BJC-85 will posterize an 8.5x11 page to 2x2 and 3x3 size, or 17x22 and 25.5x33. Your inkjet may have a similar functionality.
My sabbath duties won't allow joining the demo, but if anyone wants to come to San Rafael, I could probably print an extra copy.

...noticed that an antiwar protest is planned for San Jose on saturday Feb 15 at Cesar Chavez Plaza and Roosevelt Park. Call (408)297-2299 for more info and go to
http://www.sanjosepeace.org to get the left story.
There is WiFi Access right over there at the Tech Center in the cafe...or out on the sidewalk so that we can have live, streaming reports.
Being in the South Bay, I will head over there between 11 and 1 to balance the anti-war crying crowd.
FReepmail me if you want to show up there and we'll hook up.

BTTT Hi D. I just downloaded your brochure and printed it out. What an excellent job you did. My only suggestion is that you use larger bold type (perhaps Arial) under each flag rather than print the names on the side, because they cannot be read. (If they are important to you.) I think it would be nice for people to see clearly who is WITH US. Also I love that you included Registered's Uncle "Bush" graphic. It is magnificent! If you are going to make the flag name changes, let me know, therwise I'll get it out as is. Then it should be pinged to EVERY FR Chapter Leader on the State Locale boards. Perhaps Diotima the Great will be able to help.

Thank you, Libertina! And thanks for your suggestions. The Word version (over 4.2 MB) is much clearer and you can see the text for each country. But for now, I am going to leave it as is, especially for Sat. and Sun.

Be sure to drop David Gold at KFSO a note and maybe drop into his chat room? I know he'd appreciate the report.

Great Job on the tri-fold brochure... we'll pring our plenty for Sacraamento and San Francisco.
To: Drango
Thanks for posting this! I hadn't seen it. She pretty much got it right, except that she emphasized my personal story more than our rally. Not my intention, I assure you!
To: HighRoadToChina
Great job on the flyer HRTC! Thanks for taking care of this.

Okay folks, I've been missing in action for a day or so, but I'm back! It looks like we're taking a headcount, but I'm not sure who's in charge? If you all want to email me back to confirm, I could post our total? Or if someone else is doing this already, count me in plus 2 (Mom and Stepdad)---rain or shine.
We're going to arrive early on Sunday, between 11:30am and 12pm, to stake out our spot. Last time, the place was already full, even an hour earlier, because a lot of the peaceniks just go straight to the Civic Center, so we want to get there earlier this time.
I know that parking is providing a challenge for the Sacto folks. I've suggested already either the underground parking lot at the Civic Center (might be full?) or finding a spot on the street, maybe about 4-5 blocks away. The West side of Van Ness tends to be better for parking and since it's Sunday, it will be free. Otherwise, I'd suggest people take BART. We'll probably just walk.
See you soon!

All those coming should be aware parking is almost non-existant unless you illegaly park (big fines). I would encourage all to take Bart if possible.
Several of us from the Lafayette Flag Brigade (5 or 6) are meeting at the Lafayette Bart Station @ 11:30 a.m.
Onward Infidels!
