This is also an opportunity for the Bay Area FReeper Chapter to get to know each other. There won't be much time beforehand, since we're meeting only an hour before the mob arrive. But anyone interested in getting together afterwards is welcome to join the party at the Cathedral Hill Hotel at Van Ness & Geary. We went there last time and found the lobby restaurant devoid of peaceniks and therefore, very peaceful!

I'm having trouble sending out a group FReepmail, so I thought I'd take this opportunity to run a date by you all for our first Bay Area Chapter meeting. How about Saturday, March 15th at noon?
Just let me know if that date does not work for you, otherwise I'll assume you're okay with it.
Thanks!

Maybe you or some of those on your ping list can help my kids and I come up with some slogans for peaceniks in our area. Any ideas? So far I've seen them holding signs saying, "NO BLOOD FOR OIL" "HONK FOR PEACE" We'd like to hold up some signs for them to read while we drive by. My kids thought it was pretty funny to see their mom hanging out the window yelling to those protesters. I think I'd rather hold a sign up instead.
Post your slogans ideas, please!

STL, I will plan to come to the march, but I cannot come up to the City 2 days in a row (ie, Saturday meeting). I will also contact the Stanford College Republicans and invite them -- OK?
It's a good idea to come up with sign/slogan ideas (I already have a bunch) -- but as ALL of our FR Chapters will be doing counter-protests that weekend, it would be a good idea to have a single thread for all of them. Either a sidebar, or if we can, a 'headline' site (like "Freeper Foxhole"). Maybe called "Counter-Protest Resources", something like that. This is very important -- it's a rare opportunity to get 'our side' heard, so we want to be consistent and effective -- but I'm not sure how to go about getting the Admin/Sidebar Moderators to set up such a thing!

If you will check out the threads for Fresno, Colorado, and Missouri rallies, you will find several examples of slogans for signs. We all share with each other, so feel free to use anything you like.

How bout this one...
"STOP SUPPORTING SADDAM HUSSEIN, FREE THE IRAQI PEOPLE"
Should harken some of them back to the 1/18 protest when I was preachin it to them.

Man, I would love to participate in this, but saddly I live in the Mountains of Virginia...it's a bit of a drive, but I will be in prayer for you all, and that it goes well, anyone know of any counter-protests scheduled for Washington DC?

Bay Area Bump!
I'll be there for sure on Sunday, and Saturday too if that happens.

Jerez2:
I think you may have misunderstood something? You mentioned not being able to come to SF 2 days in a row. But the counter-protest is Sunday, 2/16 and the Bay Area Chapter meeting is just about a month later, on Saturday, 3/15. I hope this clarification helps!
As for coordinating the signs, that's not a bad idea, but might be a bit complicated. I'll post some sign ideas here, as will others, and we can take it from there.

Here's a few sign ideas:
Saddam Thanks you for your Support
More Human Shields to Iraq
Liberate Iraq
Oust Saddam, Free Iraq
Blame America First
Leftists Hate America
Anyone else?

What's life like for a conservative in SF? Well, yes, we are often very, very angry! However, channeling it into activism (like counter-protests) really helps. Plus, spending copious amounts of time on the FReep! I also use writing as a means of venting.
It's probably not the best place on earth to raise kids, but I wouldn't know, yet...and I might try and move by then.

Living, FReeping and raising children (very carefully) smack dab in the middle of it.

"Fry Mumia" That strikes just the right note, since International ANSWER and the Free Mumia organization are both front groups for the Workers World Party!
We're hoping to hold a Freep in Fargo, ND, on 2/14. Kofi Annan, Walter Mondale, Richard Holbrooke, and Nobel Peace Prize bureaucrats are meeting at Concordia (Moorehead, MN actually). Population density being what it is here, I hope to collect a few locals for a Freep.
Good fun, good luck, and Give 'em hell!
