I'm glad I'm not alone in my observations AND worries! Maybe if we all worry together...well, you know.

Hi rintense, Wonderful pictures. As I look at them I see a decent, caring and a man not afraid to show his emotions and I wonder why people in this country despise him. Why is that? He has the toughest job of any President since the Challenger disaster. Since this is a NASA city, a memorial service was held at our Civic Center. Jan and I got to go but dr was out of town on a business trip. He knew all of the Challenger crew so it was a very sad time at this house and more so since he knew them. I can not get over how some dems are saying this was President Bush's fault. I was watching CSPAN yesterday and lots of kids were calling in to express their sorrow at what had happened. A man called in to tell them not to lose their hope in their future. You know, I am a history person and I know that disasters have happened all though our past. The Donner Party disaster in the mountains out west, all the trouble during the time of exploration of the west. All of these troubles did not stop exploraton because they believed in this country. Just imagine what this country would have been like if they had said, "Enough is enough." Am I saying all of this correctly? We can not stop space exploration because of a few disasters. Who knows what we will learn in space that will benefit all people? Enough of my soapbox!!!

I didn't watch any of the coverage of this after 11 yesterday morning. I knew all I'd hear was the blathering on by the media who didn't know any more, but would continue to talk, nonetheless. I was in the middle of getting things together for our youngest's 13th birthday party. I didn't get to hear the President's remarks and only read them this morning on the e-mail from the Presidential Prayer Team. It was the first time I cried about this; his choice of Scripture was just so poignant.

God received the souls of the astronauts yesterday morning, and I know He'll continue to comfort their families.

I wonder how often he's tempted to tell Laura he wished he were back home on his ranch only worrying about the brush he has to clear from his property?

IMHO, and I believe you believe this, too, Pippin: The President clearly would not have wanted any of these tragedies to occur under his watch....not for unwarranted and unwanted blame, rather, because of the pain he must see and feel others bear. And what he is telling Laura, and what she, him, IMHO, is that God placed GW in this position exactly because only GW could have led our country through these pains, these turmoils, and no other. And GW is humbled and, perhaps, in a state of awe that God would entrust to him these grave responsibilities. And GW is thankful that he may serve the Lord and be used to shine a Light into the darkness of our pain and fears. Praise God for GW and may the Lord continue to bless our beloved President, George W. Bush.

Thank you Rintense, for posting The Dose on this sad day. Through your sorrow it seems to me that you reach out to comfort us here on the Dose, even through your recovery from sugery, may God bless you. (I did not log on until Sunday morning, so did not post last night.)

I do not post often, I mostly lurk, but the Dose is somewhere I come to every day that gives me hope and proved to me, that there are good and honest, patriotic people who love our country, our President, and each other.

To all, those on the Dose, I thank you as well.

To our President, I say:

"Good Sir, you are at all times, a noble warrior, a humble, God fearing man, and the answer to a grateful nation.

We are so thankful to the Lord, for your leadership, and for gracing us with the boundless love you have for your country.

The greatest of us will fall on our knees with worry and fatigue, and the finest steel must first go through fire.

Gather to you the love and prayers of your grateful nation, and lift your eyes to the Lord, for it is he who made you our leader, and he shall not fail you, weary though you may be.

From Isaiah:

Fear not: for I have redeemed thee: I have called thee by thy name: thou art mine.

When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee;
When thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; Neither shall the flame kindle upon thee...

Since thou have been precious in my sight, and honorable, and I have loved thee..

Fear not, for I am with thee."

We are here for you..God Bless you and keep you close.

Ms. B

Hi Nic, thanks for the ping (-:

President Bush has had to face enormous challenges since very early on. He's handled every situation with courage and leadership. I pray that God sends him renewed strength every day.

Although I don't say much about him, I have deep repect for our President, and trust his decisions.

Thank-you for bringing that to my attention. It's a great, heart-felt post, Pippin. It shows that you have enormous respect and empathy for our president and the tremendous burden that he must bear.

The best we can do is to remember him in our daily prayers and to continue to publicly support him.

Here's a little prayer I say each morning along with my usual hours and morning prayers:

Lord, I thank you for this day, Bless this day and all I meet and know. Forgive my sins and my forgetfulness of the past 24 hours and guid my thoughts, words, and actions today.

Bless and protect President Bush and his family and cabinet. And God Bless America.

You guys write the most beautiful posts.

I have the biggest lump in my throat. I'm so moved by your words of love and praise for our W. Someone said on another thread, that there hasn't been a president since Lincoln, who has had to bear the burdens that our beloved President has had to bear. I join you in praying that our God will hold him up and keep him protected.
