I just got home a few minutes ago and learned about this.....how many more tragedies must President Bush and our country endure? Our President already had such a full plate......none of it his making.....prayers to our President, the Astronaut's families and friends, our military, the 9/11 victim's families, and all Americans. I thank God, every day, that Bush is our President during oh these so very many and awful, heartbreaking tragedies!

nic, it's the strength, faith and unity of our country that gets us through these times.

I hope I don't seem intrusive here, but I decided, after years of lurking, to join today, and I couldn't think of a better time. This tragedy is just awful for us all, and I join in prayer with everyone. Forgive my sort-of duplicate post on another thread; I didn't 'get it' at first. Anyway, prayers to all of the families and their loved ones and to our country.

Regards,

Moe

Space travel is inherently dangerous. This isn't a tragedy.

Safety is a chimera. That applies to space launches, commuting to work, smoking, eating at McDonalds, war, taking an ocean cruise, you name it.

Somewhere yesterday (no time to look it up now, sorry) I read a quote that said no President has been called on to give the speech of his life more times than George W. Bush (paraphrased).

And he's come through every time.

"how many more tragedies must President Bush and our country endure?"

Quite a few I imagine. This is part of NOT spending enough on military related issues, NASA and space technology..... by the Clintongs....

JUST like 9-11 was partially related to their lack of commitment to our national security and total flubbing of international relations... even letting ben ladin off the hook when the libyans offered him to us (or was it the yemenis? or whoever?).

The pricetags for the evils that hillary, her thugs and hubby; are all coming due. EVERY thing was about him and her getting power and sex, and their hatred of America. THEY sabotaged EVERY program and institution we needed for our security and strength as a nation. THIS is yet another Clintong "PAYBACK PAYDAY" for our electing evil willie and his wicked wife... TWICE.

No this is NOT the last tragedy we will endure, that could have been avoided, but it will be instructive as to priorities and responsibilities of the federal government.

Are we going to fund the discovery, exploration and colonizing of Space, or social programs and their subjective moral enforcement of pet peeves for special interests; all at GREAT cost and expense to our security, military needs, technological development, medical tech, and real progress?

The age of technology will wipe out the age of socialism... or we will be stuck at this level for a very long time.

The naysayers will have to be dealt with.
