Shame on you. What an insensitive and inappropriate remark. Please realign your priorities.

In the way we live our everyday lives we are all trying to further the progress of humanity. We can choose to make that good or evil. We can make an impact in many ways that exemplify courage. G-d watches and knows if we are trying.

When you are doing dangerous things to advance mankind, things are going to happen, sometimes wonderous things, sometimes tragic things. It's all part of being in the front. It's safer to be among the herd, safe and dull, but when you are on the edge things are going to happen. We mourn these seven souls, but we should also celebrate the fact that we have people like this who are willing to risk it all for a glimpse of the unknown... They are in God's hands now. --McGavin999

McGavin, you get my nomination for post of the day. I'm sure there are many good ones out there today, yours is very good.

Welcome to Free Republic. What does "ysoitanly" mean, if I may ask?

he suggested to Bush that he take some time for himself and practice or think about his speech. Bush just said, "no, I know what I want and have to say."

Sorry for delayed response.....got a phone call, then got distracted on this and other threads.....thanks for your post; yes, GW displays exactly what it is he wants to say, and that he means every word. I must keep repeating myself: how unlike his predecessor GW certainly is, and I'm so very glad.

THE HOUSTON CHRONICLE: “Few presidents have had to give the speech of their life more often than George W. Bush."

Thanks for the find....and sorry for my delayed response. Other personal matters got my attention, and then other threads. Unfortunately, at this juncture, I do not believe that GW has given his last. It amazes me how he maintains his composure, at times; FOX mentioned today seeing his tears, a mist in his eyes.....I am certain GW will not sleep well tonight, yet again. And neither will any of these poor families. Godspeed to them all.

Right click down download for 800 x 600.
Left click, then right click download for 1024x768.

Reaching Higher Ground

Descending, only to rise!
Leaving pull
Of God's green Earth
In a blaze of fire!

Worldly friction didn't win
Every trouble fades
On that heavenly high

Pushing out further
Than man has ever been
On the frontier
Of the deep dark night

Pushing the limits
Of this mortal life
We will never know
Unless we strive

The brave live forever
Seared into our hearts
Not knowing they were heroes
Just doing their part

But they'll not be forgotten
In the troubled times ahead
By courageous example
They have forever led

Elijah's chariot
Came to carry them away
To their eternal home
In God's eternal sky

Dedicated to the crew of Columbia - 2/1/03

Hah! My priorities are "The United States of America first, everybody else step to the back."

This Israeli guy was ONE GUY out of all the crew we lost. One guy.

But because he was the citizen of one small state on our list of politically-correct icons, the prime minister of that little 2-and-a-halfth world country is first on the agenda.

Sheesh.

The Israeli astronaut was a foreign national and a guest of our space program...

So let Pres. Bush phone his family. After the whole period of PERSONAL mourning is over, THEN let's worry about kow-towing to foreign shores.

Still obessessing about Israel, I see. If this had been the flight with the Saudi prince on board that went down, would you have objected to the President giving condolences to Saudi Arabia?
