President Bush's plans to assist in Africa with the AIDS crisis is pretty much the direct result of Christian advisors combined with long term national interest.

Oh yeah?
Let's see where the money actually goes.
My gut feeling is it will line the pockets of various NGO's "condom distribution" and "education" programs, the rest going to corrupt African regimes.

Don't know, but on NPR yesterday they were saying that when this idea first came up Bush had specifically tasked a select committee of advisers to find a way to vector the aid so that it is direct aid to victims, particularly children, and avoids previous efforts going through the tinpot governments.

Not sure how successful that will be, but apparently that was at the top of the list of requirements.

Let's not forget the American businessmen who will get the contracts to furnish all the supplies, transportation, etc, etc, etc. Most (all?) of whom will have relatives of sitting US politicians sitting on their boards of directors,or working as contract employees on commission.
