According to the launch schedule the next shuttle mission was scheduled for March 1, 2003.

It looks like part of the mission was docking with the International Space Station.

Is George Bush the Beast of Revelations?"

They're anti-christian to begin with. Every liberal policy is anti-Commandments. If they feel Bush is the beast, They're the prophacized minions of Revelations. They should read their Bible again.

You skipped over answering my question: How do you know it was shuttle design that caused its loss?

NBC clarifies....

The "heat spike" was detected by Nasa satellites and the spike detected is believed to be the Shuttle, not a seperate object.

The debris trail is clearly visible on this narrowband radar loop:

I also doubt it is terrorism unless those kooks have become exceedingly advanced. The whole incident is obviously something that would make terrorists happy, and where it broke up (Palestine, Texas) could be viewed as symbolic due to the presence of an Israeli onboard, however all that is coincidence (for any terrorist to plan an attack so that the shuttle breaks up over a place called Palestine Texas would require such advanced tech that they would not bother with such an attack).

Hence i do not think it is terrorism, and if you check the picture i posted on that other thread you will notice that a piece of insulation broke off during launch, and maybe that led to this disaster.

Take care and God bless.

I am in shock. I've been watching FNC for the past half hour and I really have no words. The one thing I did observe is that the amateur video they showed looked like the shuttle was sideways on re-entry. There was also some white debris in that same frame shot.

I saw that too. And apparently traveling at Mach 17.

Gives me chills. It's getting near time for loss of words here....

Did you see the amateur video on FNC? It clearly shows the shuttle decending sideways and then ripping apart.

I want to feel space beneath me, one last time. It's where I belong, where I have always belonged.

Babylon 5

Good quote. Here's another, from ST-TNG:

"If you can't take a little bloody nose, maybe you ought to go back home and crawl under your bed. It's not safe out here. It's wondrous, with treasures to satiate desires both subtle and gross. But it's not for the timid."

I know this isn't the time for making connections that may not mean anything, but both shuttle disasters involved missions in which the basic purpose of the mission had been overshadowed by the "hoopla" surrounding one of the crew membes. I've always believed that the Challenger disaster was a result of NASA's attitude about shuttle flights -- these flights had become little more than multicultural political statements.

My gut feeling is it will line the pockets of various NGO's "condom distribution" and "education" programs, the rest going to corrupt African regimes.

Let's not forget the American businessmen who will get the contracts to furnish all the supplies, transportation, etc, etc, etc. Most (all?) of whom will have relatives of sitting US politicians sitting on their boards of directors,or working as contract employees on commission.

they just showed some new video on FNC. It looks like the Shuttle was on fire before it got within camera range. Could mean something went wrong during that blackout time after the re-entry burn is completed and when they are able to regain radio contact
