Shuttle Contact LOST-No Tracking Data During RE-Entry!

Shuttle has NOT been heard from or seen on tracking radar since 0800Hrs CDT. No contact at Merrit Island tracking station, no voice comm...DEVELOPING.

Question. What if the engineers had concluded after lift off that the damage was re-entry compromising? What would/could they do?

The only "evidence" for sabotage is that the shuttle is a highly visible and symbolically significant target. But against that there is the fact that there was a massive security program in place to avert this.

Plus, there is a consistent alternative explanation: If the wing was damaged enough to cause a problem, that problem would have manifested itself on re-entry.

And add to that the fact there are many highly effective terrorist attacks that would have a much larger casualty and economic impact on the U.S.

I was outside, heard *strange* boom, boom, boom, sounds...About 6/8.....when I looked up, there were two smoke trails across the sky.....Tv is saying more debris found in Nacadoches....

This is exactly what my brother describes...it's what made him think it wasn't a sonic boom.

The tire pressure change would have been the first indication of the heat buildup. That scar across central Texas is truly horrible.

Why is this? Are their tv station/stations state-owned,and cut off on the Sabbath? If not,surely a large part of their population aren't Ultra-Orthodox,and they would be watching something as historic as this.

Yes we do. But at 200K feet. They could end up finding debris in Houston depending on how big the explosion was. When I was living in Alabama 1999.....they has an intact wing flap was up on the beach in Panama City.
