Instead of flushing millions of $$$ down the toilet on AIDS in Africa, why not build a better, safer, Space Shuttle, eh?
President Bush's plans to assist in Africa with the AIDS crisis is pretty much the direct result of Christian advisors combined with long term national interest.
Chaos, hunger, and millions of orphans in Africa is opening the door for Muslim extremists to come in and assist and recruit them and stick them in Madrassas. This is really part of the battle with Islam over the fate of Africa. A valid battle.
We need to build a better space launch platform now. But we don't need to zero out a new plane, or close down Guantanamo, or turn our back on Kenya in order to save a few bucks to pay for it.

According to the media, the Columbia has lost a part of a tank at the start on Jan 16. Officials said yesterday, that this hadn´t caused any harm to the Columbia - now they say it probably has damaged the left wing of the Shuttle.

It's a suburb north of Dallas.

Thank you so much for posting that. I've had those lines going through my head for the past 1 hr 45 minutes.

thanks. i hope that this time they give nasa the tools it needs -- and make space flight the
only goal, not political correctness, not making sure that the requisite number of contractors are in west virginia, not making the agency profitable. and that seti be put on the other side of the moon, where it has a chance of actually finding something.

In spite of myself, I clicked on the link you provided to DU.
Please pardon my language, but I'm very, very angry right now.
What an incredibly sick, twisted bunch of motherfu**ers over there.

outstanding post.. thank you..

Yes that is what it is. Local stations are showing the weather radar ; debris fields of floating material in a large swatch south east of DFW south of Tyler and Henderson, between Athens and Rusk.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong. My understanding of the crew compartment, it is simply a pressure vessel within the space frame. Could the pressure vessel could survive re-entry?

Not on the Sabbath.

Thanks Annie, I am lucky to be with them. We just had a little prayer circle that was comforting. I hope the famlies have good support. How awful for them. FReeper Yoni F is here. He is from Israel and is worried about saboutage. We hope none is involved.

Columbia was built in '79. How good was your PC back then? Even with every conceivable upgrade it would still be irrelevant today. I'm would believe that computer has been upgraded many numerous times since the computer upgrades I helped design were installed in Columbia
To: myrabach
No, the code for trajectory is not linked to the COMM system.
