And of course the Egyptians agreed to this with their fingers crossed behind their backs, and I suspect, engineered the assassination of Anwar Sadat not long after the so-called "Peace" accord that was done as a Carter Photo-Op, just as his disciple x42 did at Oslo.

If you look at the Presidents we've had since 1950, Kennedy, Carter and Clinton are the cream of the crop of Democrats.
Kennedy was a plagerizing womanizing guy who dated such women as Judith Exner Mob Boss Girlfriend and an eastern block spy while he was President. The guy appears to have been every bit as much a sex-addict as Bill Clinton, his worshiper. We now find he was high on medications most of his Presidency, if not all. I wouldn't doubt we'll find the same thing about Clinton in time.
Carter was an unmitigated disaster when it comes to foreign policy. I doubt anyone could have done more serious damage to global stability and western values in just four years.
Clinton? I think we know about Clinton.
The point is, this is what the Democrats have given us in the last fifty years. Frankly it's amazing they still have any party memebers left.

I am sorry I missed your comment last night. I think it very astute. What is more important is what he is doing now, not what he did 25 years ago.
He IS an evil man.

This coming from the former President who brought us the 1979 Iranian Hostage crisis... This gross case of misfeasance was the beginning of the rise of militant Islam. Carter's failure to comprehend even the basics of what was going on has led to the Islamo-terror we witness today.
What a pitiful excuse of a man. He continues to plague us daily with his anti-American dribble.

Great article, I never realized Carter inappropriately tried to use the USSR to influence the 1980 elections. That is up there with Clinton's sellout to the Chinese in terms of presidential perfidy. Carter's goody-two-shoes image is so phony.
Here is the real Carter human rights record: A tyranny took power in Iran on his watch, communists started a 10 year failed experimentin Nigaragua on his watch, The USSR invaded Afghanistan and started a bloody war on his watch. He did nothing while Cuba and USSR supported dictatorships and wars in Africa. THE USAs influenced waned as its economic power fell.

Right. The "nice guy" image is belied by the fact that he was incredibly petty and uptight wrt to Reagan beating him. Still cant get over the concept that maybe his own FAILED POLICIES had something to do with his failure to get a second term.
He is Liberal who feels morally superior to conservatives because we dont shared his pollyanna views about dictators, Commmies and terrorists; that is not nice, that is arrogant, foolish and narrow-minded.

President Carter's aborted plan to withdraw U.S. ground troops from South Korea. They were also marred by President Park's authoritarian policies under the Yushin system, which were sharply criticized by President Carter as part of his emphasis on human rights. Consider this Carter's failed attempt to create yet another victory for Communism.

Jimmy Carter, leftist lap dog, the Great Enabler of the NK nuke program, who purchased a phoney legacy by paying off Islamics in Egypt with US tax dollars, who screwed up the US economy with his peanut-brained programs, who put the Great Goofup Warren Christopher-- the man who told a solider, 'Why not shoot their hands?', when a soldier wanted to off some terrorist guards, during the Iran Hostage rescue. Carter, who gave away the Panama Canal, who accepted a Nobel Peace prize, knowing it was just a publicly announced slap at our current president, and who now is decimating his own reputation over Iraq. Carter's popularity with Americans is dropping like a rock.

"If all of this comes down as we anticipate, the Democrats will be finished for a generation..."
If they are finished for a generation, another party would rise in their place, IMHO. And I can't imagine the DNC surviving. I saw this coming back during the Thompson Hearing on Chinagate. Americans are much more inclined now to believe what we've been saying. It's like peeling an onion. One level of denial is peeled away after another.
To: Jhoffa_
"What kind of mentality would find happiness in such ill gotten gain? Could you be happy about this? It would piss me off so bad and I would raise such a stink there would BE NO "Nobel Peace Prize" from that day forward.. "
What about Carter's fawning media friends? They are in the same boat. Leaders of the Left generally don't care about truth. They want one thing: power. They are addicted to power. It means more to them than their souls. They risk billions of dollars for it in some cases.
To: Williams
I don't have to read the whole article. "Nobel Peace Prize Laureate???" How about former one term democrat president? And how about inappropriate former president? And he sure didn't win the prize in math, because 77 percent in latest poll is sure as heck most Americans, and i think more European countries are for than against. I noticed that also. In fact, they didn't even mention he was ever president. I guess in Reuter's collective mind set, a NPPL is a greater credential than that of President, thus elevating the opinion of all NPPLs, including Kofi, Mandella, etc.
Take heart though, as PJ O'Rourke noted, "It took Clinton to make Carter look good".

That about summarizes the clinton years.
I have never seen a party as crazy and off balance in their quest for absolute "power" as the democrats are now..
