West Coast VCR Alert: Dennis Miller kills on Leno tonight
Tonight Show ^ | 1/29/03 | Dennis Miller

Posted on 01/29/2003 11:28:31 PM PST by Warhead W-88

Head's up, put on Leno tonight or load up the VCR.

Dennis Miller kills, enthusiastically backs Bush on Iraq and bashes the Al Gore, the Dems, the French, and Sean Penn.

On the French: "The French wouldn't go to Iraq unless we convinced them there were truffles there.

On Penn: "Yeah, he's the kind of guy who if you say he isn't peaceful, he'll come to beat you up."

On Iraq: "Heat plus sand equals glass. I think we should go in there and bomb Baghdad until it looks like Superman's Dad's aparment on Krypton."

Must see.

I heard Miller say something about the ballfield at the WH and Bush doing stuff for the kids. Bill Clinton didn't didn't have any interest in any thing like that, just the older girls. That observation rang a bell in Millers head.

I'm not pushing this issue out of interest to defend my comments

Uh... then why all the in-depth description of head turns and mouth positions etc. Why did you have to look at it _25_ times? ??

This issue bothers me because I have seen it 25 times. I know what he is saying. I do think it possible for someone to view it once and percieve that he said something he didn't because his voice does fade somewhat right there. But after careful study of the video and audio, there simply isn't any room for discussion. He said "I am not a Bush supporter."

Simply isn't any room for discussion? And you aren't trying to defend your comments? My... aren't we patronizing.

Not sure why it bothers you but I just saw a replay of that segment on Hardball (Miller was being interviewed by Matthews), and I have no doubt he says what others here also saw "I'm... I'm a Bush Fan." What you *think* you are seeing as "not" is the second "I'm". Folks here in CA can catch a replay on Hardball at 9:00 p.m. It appears at the beginning of the show.

I appreciate the comments and don't hold any animosity over this, but folks, accept reality.

Yeah, you really sound like someone not trying to defend his position that almost everyone here seems to disagree with. Maybe your recorder bleeped a frame or two, I don't know. But you are wrong and the proof is in the sentence Miller made following "I'm.. I'm a Bush fan."

btw, he makes it quite clear he's a Bush fan on Hardball. He actually admits that he voted for him.

But after careful study of the video and audio, there simply isn't any room for discussion. He said "I am not a Bush supporter." That's simply the truth of it.

btw, how did "fan" become "supporter"? I suspect you've got gremlins in that there recorder of yours.

Doughty, not to get off on a rant here, but you're a lip-reading expert like Elvis Presley was really a Master of Kung Fu. Sure he had the black belt, but he couldn't kick above his waist.

The man says "I'm-I'm a Bush fan." You can study the lip positions all you like, but the man clearly says "I'm--I'm"; there is no "not," and no "n" sound, no "o" sound, or no "t" sound.

I think I just figured out what the problem is!!

Folks there as been some discussion on this thread regarding exactly what Larry Miller said about his support for Bush.

You're referring to someone named _Larry_ Miller! So Sorry! We thought you meant _Dennis_ Miller! Please accept my apologies. I didn't see a program with Larry Miller. So I don't know what Larry said.

At the very end, as they are going to commercial, Leno is speaking into Miller's ear and says something about "you had to bust me on that joke..." Does anyone know what that was about?

Jay Leno was asking why the villains in James Bond movies who chase a skiing Bond down a snowy hill don't just wait for him at the bottom. (A really stupid joke that wasn't funny.)

Dennis Miller responded: "I'm a comedian. What the hell are you hitting me with that crap for?", and in a mocking tone, quipped: "gee, Jay, what part of the chicken is the nugget?"

It was an esoteric moment, but needless to say, Dennis Miller ribbed Leno for the bad joke. I can't even believe I rememebered this, but hey, this is FreeRepublic.com, and you asked!

I think Dennis Miller has decided to eschew Hollyweird, and go after that great untapped audience that Hollyweird refuses to acknowledge exists.

I'm part of his audience. I've been watching him for years. He started with the conservatism about the same time I did -- during Clinton's first term.

Thanks for the comments guys. I didn't see Miller appear on the other show so I can't comment on that. I can comment on the Leno show and you're wrong.

You must be loads of fun at a card game.

Since I was referring to the Leno show with Dennis Miller and not Larry Miller, who am I to say you are wrong?

Evidently I said Larry Miller once. I'm not going to bother to look it up. This seems to be pretty amusing to you. Who cares?

Just out of curiosity, how many times did you view the Dennis Miller with Leno video footage?
