This person defends Clinton by saying to me that they all cheat and that he's getting them somewhere and that it is easy to put up a good front. How do you respond to that kind of stupidity?
You tell them this: That the only reason the cynic believes that "everyone does it" is because the cynic does it, and cannot bear to live with the idea that other people may not be as degenerate as he.

I do not have an ideology. I have beliefs, manifest by choices, based on reason. Apparently, as a Bushbot, you have ideology based on hero worship. Your choice.

Future multi-mega thread suggestion: when the time comes to move to a new thread, don't lock the current thread but still put a really big annoying box at the top telling people to move. That way, as soon as someone hits "refresh" they'll see the box and know to put posts about the new topic in the new thread.

My favorite part was where the Prez leaned on the hichin' post, adjusted his Stetson, and said, "and to be sure, a lot of them Alkeeder fellas ain't a problem no more...[wink]".

Bottom line? What we heard tonight was history-making, galvanizing, visionary -- greatness befitting a great leader. John-this deserves its own thread. Never have you touched me more with your written observations. Thank you so much for this beautiful piece-methinks you put into words what so many of us felt during the unfolding of our President's remarks but would never be able to express in such a comprehensive critique.
Are we a Blessed nation, or what? :^)

Re: #1641 -- yes! Great line, friend.
Here's some more (there are so many strikingly beautiful passages, it's hard to choose..hehe):
President Bush:
"In all these days of promise and days of reckoning, we can be confident. In a whirlwind of change, and hope, and peril, our faith is sure, our resolve is firm, and our union is strong."
To: JohnHuang2
Hey, John. Please post your essay/response to the speech tomorrow on a separat thread. It deserves more prominance.

It was great to see the standing O by the dims for this line! ROFLMAO!
To: Howlin
President Bush:
"As our Nation moves troops and builds alliances to make our world safer, we must also remember our calling, as a blessed country, to make this world better."
To: Howlin
"We have the terrorists on the run, and we are keeping them on the run. One by one, the terrorists are learning the meaning of American justice."
