Gee, every time I've brought my Jeep in for service, the dealership always had Fox News channel on in the customer lounge.

This is easy. Don't buy any Daimler-Chrysler product. I'd be unlikely to anyway, but now for sure I won't.

Not very bright of Daimler-Chrysler. DUH!

So who is buying their new cars? Must be the poor, unemployed and the folks living on skid row? My advice for Freepers is boycott Daimler-Chrysler products. If you plan on buying a new vehicle, take a peek at the new Caddies. If you are driving a new Mercedes, just tough it out.

My last truck was a Dodge, I'll never buy another. It was junk and I know other people w/ newer models and they say theirs are lemons too. Besides, now that they merged w/ the Nazi company, they should be boycotted anyhow. No telling what percentage of the profits finds it way into their Arab surrogates hands in order to finance the Final Solution.

Meanwhile, several people, including some who are shopping for new vehicles, told CNSNews.com they would never again buy a DaimlerChrysler automobile; the small-scale boycotts designed to protest the company's support of the Rev. Jesse Jackson's pet projects and the "myopic" remark by Senior Vice President for Government Affairs Frank Fountain.

Am I just dense this morning? Can someone translate this for me?

I was thinking of buying a new Charger when they come out in 2004.

Maybe I should rethink that and go with the new GTO instead.

Add DaimlerChrysler cars/trucks/SUVs to the growing list of things I just won't ever consider in the future... Such as movies featuring George Clooney, Ed Harris, Robert Altman etc. etc. etc.

Link to service site.

I just clicked on contact Chrysler and typed this up:

I would not direct my thoughts towards a hard working innocent customer care representative.

I would however be most appreciative if someone would provide me with an E-mail address for Frank Fountain.

I have some "gems" of my "myopic view of the world" which I would like to share with this "chap".

Please be assured I bear the hard working rep who has to read this no malice. I wish the best to you and hope that newer and better employment prospects will brighten your door.

As for myself, I will ensure that my family and my children are raised knowing that while Chryslers may look "nifty" that we should never, never buy one under any circumstances.

I'm sure that my wife will be more than content to settle for a new Toyota rather than subsidize an executive who believes our deepest held values are "myopic".

If you could possibly forward my thoughts to this "fellow", I'd appreciate it.

I would guess that the fact that Dodges have no resale value is related to the fact that their management is more "myopic" than their consumers. I have a 1924 Dodge Brothers coupe that, if totally restored, would be worth about $10,000. The same Ford or Chevy would be worth twice as much. Chrysler management may well be correct about all their buyers, not just the conservative ones.

I wish Chrysler well in these economic times when alienating half of their consumer base could be the kiss of death to an industry who rightfully should already be on the ropes. Here's my own kiss...

I sent an email to them a couple of days ago and this is the reply I got:

Stuttgart, Germany

January 22, 2003

Dear Customer:

thank you very much for your e-mail regarding Frank Fountain, which you sent to Investor Relations. The article in which Mr. Fountain is quoted contains several inaccuracies. For example, DaimlerChrysler was not a "six-figure" sponsor of the Wall Street Project Conference. Frank Fountain's comments were taken out of context and were not intended to characterize individuals of any political perspective. DaimlerChrysler supports many community-based groups and non-profit organizations throughout the U.S. These organizations most often serve to further the quality of life in their respective communities and support the interests of various constituencies important to DaimlerChrysler.

Sincerely,

Rolf Bassermann

Good post.

If it were up to me and I had the resources to do so, I'd maintain a permanent list of those corporations who financially (and otherwise) support groups like Jesse Jackson, ANSWER (nee International World Workers), Hitlery! and others who are intent on destroying America.

And then promote and encourage a full-scale 24/7 boycott of their products by Conservatives.

We Conservatives ought to vote with our pocketbooks, and send a message to those who would destroy us that they cannot continually trash America. We can prove to them that their words and actions have consequences!

Does anyone have knowledge of such a list? Maybe now is the time to start one, if it does not exist.

Hubby wanted a 4-dr pickup a few years ago and was looking for the Dodge, which wasn't ready yet. So he leased the F150-supercrew instead. The lease is up in a few months and although he really likes the Ford, he doesn't like the short-box, so was talking about going back to Dodge.

NO WAY NOW... They just lost a continuing customer, one that purchases/leases every 2-3 years.

Too bad D-C... We can live without you, can you continue to survive by pissing off your customers ???

Anybody thinks these big auto makers care about patriotism or anything else but profits are smoking the wrong brand of weed.
The only thing they care about is your money
Ford-Chevy--etc etc would cowtow to Jackson just to get him off their back

So getting even with Chrysler might send them ALL a message but don't think anyone is any better than the other

I guarantee all these boobs would be just as likely to quit funding the Boy Scouts etc etc if the homos put pressue on them
They are like poliricians who have no beliefs other than $$$

Any action they take or don't take is the result of their perception on how it affects business NO MORE NO LESS

NONE of them are motivated by any strong personal character traits but profits

Thinking the EXECS atr Ford--Chevy-- etc are any different is a big mistake

"Christopher Morris, editor of the group's publication Patterns of Corporate Philanthropy , said that, based on his review of DaimlerChrysler's donations, there is not a bias toward liberal or conservative causes."

. . .that would be an interesting read. . .they probably classify the 'United Way' as apolitical./

. . .wonder how much they donated to the Boy Scouts of America this year. . .

"I was referring to no specific organization or individual, so I don't feel that there is any apology in order," Fountain said Friday."

Bottom line, you will Pal.
