January 20, 2003 -- The U.S. military has a top-secret weapon - a manmade bolt of lightning so powerful, it could render Saddam Hussein's stockpile of chemical and biological weapons useless in a flash.

The high-powered microwave beams, called HPMs, can fry sophisticated computers and electronics with electromagnetic pulses.

I tried to tell everyone this is why they were pushing smart gun technology.

Of course. And that is also why the various state governments pushing for it are exempting their pet JBT's from the same laws requiring the rest of us to buy their "smart" guns.

1.21 GW????? Does it require a Mr. Fusion Generator?

This reminds me of the science camp I want to once where the mentally distressed kid (there's always one in any camp)... well his project was going to be a pulsed dye laser (xenon flash bulbs pumping a mirrored tube with dye...)

So the first thing he set about doing in the two week project was building concrete targets for his "laazzzer beeeem." (Long b4 Austin Powers was even born...)

Needless to say, he never got his project done because he fiddlefarted around with the targets, and when he stood up in front of the kids and profs to explain his power output, he got heckled from 13 yr olds because he didn't know the difference between peak and continuous power.

Nevertheless, he was still head-and-shoulders above what passes for a student in the halls of public ed today.

Just a silly story. What were we talking about? More coffee. GigaWatt="GW". Ironic?

We probably aren't, with nothing more than the RF shielding traditionally used in military electronics.

Since our forces rely heavily on "smart" stuff it could be a problem.

Any effects on pacemakers?

Let's just say they'd better wrap their entire body in tinfoil!

It gets flown in on a tomahawk missile prior to our movements. Once it's fried all the electronic gear the enemy has, we come in and rape their army by crushing them without humor, pity or remorse.
Sort of a "What do you mean your radar doesn't work anymore? Oh, that's too bad. *BANG!*"

maybe, but you just pull out the damaged chip that locks the mechanism and route around it ...

Here is some hands on experience...

About 45 years ago in high school, our physics teacher did not show up for class...and no substitute did either. I connected a single D cell ( 1.5 volt flashlight battery) to a simple 3 volt filament transformer and had the thirty students form a human chain by holding hands up and down the rows.

I gave one student at one end of the chain, one lead from the transformer and another student at the other end of the chain, the other lead, and connected the battery. I said does anyone feel anything? NOoooooo.

Then I disconnected the battery!

The collapsing magnetic field, when I disconnected the battery, brought all 30 students out of their chairs and back down into them at the same exact time. We were on the second floor of a cement school building. Has anyone else seen or heard what happens when 30 X 100 lbs hits a cement floor in a school at once?

Did they "flyback" into their seats?

Did they "flyback" into their seats?

Good one...

Actually I thought about using a flyback transformer, but was frankly too scared to try it. The sound of 30 teenagers screaming at the top of their lungs in a small classroom was too much (back then). I know it is really nothing out of the ordinary today.

That's mean... heh heh heh..

The funny thing is, most teachers from the first floor and some from the second floor came marching into the room and demanded to know what was going on... No one squealed on me, and none of the teachers could figure it out.

Don't try this at home, or at school, or send it in to that Jackass TV show... there are too many lawyers around now.

Reminded me of my brother whizzing on an electric fence.
With predictable results.

Ahh, to be younger...
And there to bo no lawyers....

As I recall from news reports, this directional microwave "chip killer" has been tested through the '90's in "police" cars as a way to terminate high speed chases. There should be no doubt that our "authorities" are about controlling the rabble. 200 years after Napoleon's broad avenue design enhancing effectiveness of cannon fire against Paris' rioters, police powers of the state are still being refined.

Smart guns are a quantum leap towards "selective" omnipotence. Our grandchildren, if they are not conditioned through submission learned by being on their knees five times a day, will hardly recognize the chaotic America of the Bill of Rights era.

Imagine a high tech Sharia.
