PROCLAMATION President Bush's proclamation of National Sanctity of Human Life Day by George W. Bush January 16, 2003

WASHINGTON (BP)--Following is the full text of President Bush's designation of Jan. 19 as National Sanctity of Human Life Day:

Our Nation was built on a promise of life and liberty for all citizens. Guided by a deep respect for human dignity, our Founding Fathers worked to secure these rights for future generations, and today we continue to seek to fulfill their promise in our laws and our society. On National Sanctity of Human Life Day, we reaffirm the value of human life and renew our dedication to ensuring that every American has access to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

http://christiansunite.com/cgi-bin/cl.pl?278.8.08http://christiansunite.com/cgi-bin/cl.pl?278.8.08 As we seek to improve quality of life, overcome illness, and promote vital medical research, my Administration will continue to honor our country's founding ideals of equal dignity and equal rights for every American. Every child is a priority and a blessing, and I believe that all should be welcomed in life and protected by law. My Administration has championed compassionate alternatives to abortion, such as helping women in crisis through maternity group homes, encouraging adoption, promoting abstinence education, and passing laws requiring parental notification and waiting periods for minors.

The Born-Alive Infants Protection Act, which I signed into law in August 2002, is an important contribution to our efforts to care for human life. This important legislation helps protect the most vulnerable members of our society by ensuring that every infant born alive, including one who survives abortion, is considered a person and receives protection under Federal law. It helps achieve the promises of the Declaration of Independence for all, including those without the voice and power to defend their own rights.

Through ethical policies and the compassion of Americans, we will continue to build a culture that respects life. Faith-based and community organizations and individual citizens play a critical role in strengthening our neighborhoods and bringing care and comfort to those in need. By helping fellow citizens, these groups recognize the dignity of every human being and the possibilities of every life; and their important efforts are helping to build a more just and generous Nation. By working together to protect the weak, the imperfect, and the unwanted, we affirm a culture of hope and help ensure a brighter future for all. NOW, THEREFORE, I, GEORGE W. BUSH, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim Sunday, January 19, 2003, as National Sanctity of Human Life Day. As we reflect upon the sanctity of human life, I call upon all Americans to recognize this day with appropriate ceremonies in our homes and places of worship, to rededicate ourselves to compassionate service, and to reaffirm our commitment to respecting the life and dignity of every human being.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this fourteenth day of January, in the year of our Lord two thousand three, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and twenty-seventh.

It's a very sad fact, that roughly half of all American's support the right of a potential mother, to choose to take the life of her unborn child, through the abortion procedure. Abortion on demand has become a black mark in human history and indicates a total disregard for the sanctity of human life, born or unborn.

Bush has already done more for the cause of life than any other president, with the possible exception of Ronald Reagan.

What I like about this is his willingness to come out openly for life, just around the time of the annual march on Washington.

The media have managed to scare most Republicans into reflexively hiding their pro-life views, if they have them. I think Bush speaks out because he's an honest, forthright man. But recent events, such as the 2002 elections, have shown that there is NO NEED to hide pro-life views under a bushel basket. Most of the electorate respects a statement like this, and of those who don't, none of them will vote for a Republican anyway, under any circumstances.

I’ll second that. Bush has shown he has the guts to stand for the right of the unborn to be born and live life in the greatest country on Earth.

The “scared Republicans” are nothing but RINO cowards.

Does this include the humans whose bodies have been harvested like crops of corn and ripped apart for their embryonic stem cells. Last time I looked we were still funding that monstrosity with tax dollars. And we are also still funding planned parenthood.

I suppose that any little bone thrown to the pro-lifers I should consider a positive.

Good job, George.

It's only right that the unborn should be given at least one "personhood" by the courts.

After all single individuals are given multiple "personhoods" by the courts, if they have multiple personality disorder.

Maybe there's a spare "personhood" or two around, to share with an unborn human.

Judge: Right to attorney a ‘multiple' choice

Miranda rights do apply to all of a person's multiple personalities, a Helena District Court Judge ruled last week in the case of a Helena woman accused of stabbing her longtime roommate last year. ...

You can thank the publik schools, the cowards and liberals that have taken over the churches, RINOs, and the liberal lamestream traitorous media who equate the "right" to murder an unborn child right up there with free speech and the other Bill Of Rights (The ones they like that is).

You bet. Better a man of conviction (so rare in a president) than not, and even better, a man of conviction on the side of God's children. Yeah, George!
